Kaley Cuoco Is Sorry Her Dogs’ Butts Were On The American Flag

This year’s 4th of July is turning out to be one for the books. We learned what it means to exercise your rights as an American via Christie Brinkley. Taylor Swift showed us what patriotism looks like for the young, rich and in love (with a contract). And then we had a little blip of patriotic controversy courtesy of Kaley Cuoco.

Allison posted about Kaley’s flag situation in night crumbs, but I’ll elaborate a little. Kaley posted a photo of her dogs trying to be patriotic, but it turned out they were actually breaking the law, according to internet patriots. The offending picture, which has now been taken down, featured her dog friends wearing American flag bandanas and also sitting on an American flag. Jezebel still has the pic that got the internet so mad.

Kaley, being a lover of internetting, specifically sharing her not-at-all messy revolving door of a love life, got back on Instagram to issue an apology:

I would like to comment on a photo I posted yesterday , that has caused lots of controversy. First off, please know, I have the utmost respect for my country. I am a proud American in every sense of the word. I understand the American flag stands for our freedom and represents American heroes , past and present. Yesterday I made a mistake by posting the picture that was taken of my sweet dogs posing on an American flag. I sincerely apologize to anyone that has been offended by my previous post. This is no way reflects my feelings toward what the American flag represents. Living in the public eye, can be extremely difficult at times. Every mistake and every imperfection is amplified. I am not perfect. I am a proud American, today, tomorrow, always. ?

In case that gets deleted too for some reason, here’s her “So sowwy” statement in full:

We all know that the internet is sometimes just a place for people to lash out, so I’m with Kaley and her pups on this one. Keep in mind that that took a lot for me to say, because she’s in part responsible for The Big Bang Theory, and the existence of that show is un-American and inhumane. But, there are dogs involved, so I’ll stick with it. What the internet should have taken issue with is another of Kaley’s 4th of July photos:

Happy birthday America!!!!! ??????celebrating in style. Obviously @goldsheepclothing

Kaley and her latest piece, Karl Cook, stretched and distorted the American flag with this mess. Dogs aren’t allowed to celebrate doggy style, or, rather, be forced into ‘like’ bait. But the flag can be turned into clothes you’d find in a trash can after a Ke$ha concert? For shame, America. For shame!
