Ruby Rose Was Kicked Out Of A Bar For Allegedly Throwing A French Fry-Filled Tantrum On Friday

Apparently Ruby Rose has more in common with Justin Bieber than just delicate faces and a love of random tattoos. On Friday, Ruby Rose, from Orange is the New Black, was kicked out of a bar in New Orleans. Ruby Rose was kicked out after she got into a fight with bar staff and assaulted them with french fries.

Seung Hong, the owner of the bar that showed Ruby’s ass the door, told (via People) that it all started after one of Ruby’s people called to make a reservation. They were already booked up for the night, so he told them they could take their chances by showing up after 9pm, but warned them that it might be a while before they get a table or food. Around 9:30pm, they got a table, but they didn’t get their food until about 40-50 minutes later. Ruby complained, and Seung offered to comp their appetizers and buy them a round of drinks. Then a bartender swung by and tried to calm them down by offering a round of drinks too. Normally the words “free” and “drinks” would be enough to make anyone forget that they’ve been waiting almost an hour for french fries, but apparently not Ruby Rose.

As the bartender was leaving, he allegedly heard Ruby mutter something about kicking Seung’s ass. According to Seung, the bartender stopped and asked if he could help them with anything, and that’s when Ruby allegedly grabbed a whole handful of fries and whipped them at his face. Seung told her and her friends to get the fuck out. Seung says of the situation:

“She was having like a tantrum. She was awful. She was a horrible person. It was the first time I’ve ever had to ask someone to leave, and it was Ruby Rose.”

But if you ask Ruby Rose, it didn’t go down like that. In an attempt to do some damage control, Ruby hopped on Facebook the next day and explained her side of the story.

“Fry-day the 13th

My assistant, tour manager and myself arrived at an establishment last night for dinner before my show in New Orleans.

We waited 60 minutes for fries and over 90 minutes for food that never actually arrived. When I asked about it, the bartender offered us drinks. I explained I’m sober, but thank you.

He then made some really rude and vulgar comments to the table. When someone makes repeated derogatory jokes about the sobriety I worked so hard to achieve, it’s hard not to react emotionally. So I threw a singular fry at him. Then he came back as we were getting ready to leave and continued making awful comments, so I continued with the fries. Every day I learn new lessons about handling cultural and social ignorance. I am deeply regretful to the French fry and I am regretful that I reacted at all. Maybe next time I won’t throw fries, then again, maybe next time that bartender won’t tell someone who is sober to “go call your f**king sponsor!”

I worked in hospitality for 5 years and I have huge love, respect and admiration for servers around the world and how hard they work. I also have mad love for New Orleans and I want to come back 100 times if you will have me. Next time, dinner at my place.”

It’s really hard for me to hear someone out when they begin with such a groan-worthy pun. And she did it a second time on Instagram. RUBY, STOP. You’re a pair of pleated khakis and a “I don’t know, can you?” joke away from going full-Dad.

Waiting sucks, I get that. Especially when you’re so hungry that you’re 0.2 seconds from hopping behind the bar with a plate and treating the garnish station like a green olive, cocktail onion, and maraschino cherry buffet. But honestly, Ruby Rose is lucky that Seung didn’t call the FBI. I’m pretty sure that wasting delicious fried food like that is a federal offense. Especially french fries. There are bloggers who would kill for a basket of hot salty artery-cloggers right now!
