Day-To-Night™ Barbie!

The greatest Barbie that was ever created, Peaches ‘N’ Cream Barbie, and Loving You Barbie have all been honored here at Dlisted, so now it’s time to pay tribute to the Barbie who proved that you girls can do anything like take off your blazer and reverse your skirt. I know, DTN Barbie really inspired you to reach for the stars! (And your skirt so you can reverse it for date night with Ken.)

DTN Barbie came from 1984 and she was part of Mattel’s “We Girls Can Do Anything” campaign. DTN Barbie really could do it all. She could work 9 to 5 while bringing bubblegum pink glamour to the office, and she could party all night with Ken while bringing junior prom glamour to the club.

DTN Barbie’s serious business woman outfit easily turned into a sparkly hot party girl ensemble. Mattel should really make an adult-sized version of DTN Barbie’s magical outfit, because I’m sure there’s many grown women who played with her as a child and wish they had an all-pink ensemble that easily takes them from business to pleasure. Sure, you could only wear Barbie’s pink business suit and hat if you work in Mary Kay’s “cosmetics for 8-year-olds” division or a company that specializes in costumes for gay barbershop quartets, but you’d be the hottest-dressed bitch in the office!

The commercial mesmerized as a child (I mean, the transformation!) and it still does:

And what’s really inspirational and impressive about DTN Barbie is that she worked by herself in an office next door to her bedroom and she still brought it! I work at home and I don’t even bother changing out of my sleeping clothes (stained sweat shorts and a Spice World t-shirt), and Barbie goes all out.

Day-To-Night Barbie could do and really was EVERYTHING.
