Paz de la Huerta’s Lawyers Spit Up Video Of The Stunt-Gone-Wrong That Messed With Her Career (UPDATE)

The Oscars are this Sunday and we should be hearing the words, “….And the Oscar for Best Actress goes to… It’s a five-way tie! Paz de la Huerta for Room! Paz de la Huerta for Brooklyn! Paz de la Huerta for Joy! Paz de la Huerta for Carol! And Paz de la Huerta for 45 Years!” But that’s not going to happen and it’s all because of an accident on the set of Nurse 3D that left Paz de la Huerta with busted bones and a broken spirit. Bitches need to pay for this and Paz de la Huerta is making sure that they do.

Last July, I wrote about how the dew drop sitting on an orchid’s petal filed a $55 million breach of contract lawsuit against Lionsgate for not properly keeping her safe while shooting stunts. While shooting a scene in October 2011 in Toronto, Paz and her co-star Katrina Bowden walked into the street when an ambulance driven by a stunt artist (whose name is probably Caitlyn Jenner) drove by and hit her, sending her body to the ground. The accident left Paz in a bad way with a broken tailbone and a spinal fracture. Paz had to press pause on her acting career, because she had to go through 20 surgeries and she’s still not right. Paz blames producers for not doing a proper stunt walkthrough and not letting her know in detail what the stunt was going to be.

At the time of the stunt-gone-wrong, Paz filed a worker’s comp complaint and that made Nurse 3D’s director, Doug Aarniokoski, real mad apparently. Paz claims he got revenge on her ass by using another actresses’ “monotone” voice for voiceovers. Paz said the voiceovers completely ruined her performance.

The NYDN says that everyone involved in this mess will be at a hearing in Santa Monica, CA today. Lionsgate will argue that the case should be dismissed because Paz already got workers’ comp benefits. (UPDATE: People says that the judge shat on Lionsgate’s request. The lawsuit will go on. #JUSTICE4PAZ!)

TMZ posted a clip of the stunt that temporarily took Paz out of the acting game:

Paz also released this statement to the NYDN about that video:

“As you can see in the video, what happened that night was terrible. It has scarred me both physically and emotionally for many years. I just want justice to be done and for the people responsible to be held accountable. And, more than anything, what I want is to get back to the thing I love the most, which is acting.”

The good news is that Paz has been well enough to do some acting, because IMDB tells me she’s got a few Oscar-worthy movies in the can and a few more Oscar-worthy movies in the works. Even a demon ambulance can’t keep a real actress (HBO!) down.

What that video shows me is that Katrina Bowden looked genuinely horrified, and I’ve seen Nurse 3D, so I know that she’s not that good of an actress. That should be enough evidence for the judge to rule in favor of Paz and award her the full $55 million AND complete control of Lionsgate. Yes, her first order of business would be to change the name to Flowergate after her. And that ambulance should be burned and its ashes should be put in a rocket and launched into space.
