Hot Slut Of The Day!

Paul Lekakis, model, actor and dance club chanteuse of of the 80s and 90s!

When I was not even 8 years old, I’d always sing, “boom boom boom, let’s go back to my room where we can do it all night,” around the house and I really had no idea what I was singing. If only I could sit inside my mom’s head for a minute. She probably thought to herself, “Should I tell him not to sing that… Naw, I’ll just let him think it’s about going back to a room to play video games and She-Ra. “Boom Boom (Let’s Go Back To My Room)” was a big enough hit that they played it on the radio all the time. It was sung by Paul Lekakis, a Greek twink who rose out of the Aegean Sea after his father Poseidon mated with a bottle of White Rain hair spray. (He was born in New York.)

Because Paul Lekakis had a face that was chiseled by the gods and hair that could easily be styled into a gentle wave crashing against the shore, he was a model. Wikipedia says that while on a modeling job in Italy, he was discovered by music people while serving up some sweet moves in a dance club. (Why is that whenever I serve up some sweet moves in a club, the only people who discover me are bouncers who tell me to leave because I’m freaking out the clientele?) That little discovery in an Italian dance club led to Paul releasing his first single “Boom Boom” in 1987. It was a WORLDWIDE MEGA HIT (or something) and it led to him making a full album.

Paul still puts out music today and also acts sometimes in TV shows and indies. In 2000, Paul talked about being HIV+ to POZ Magazine. In that piece, we learned this highly important fact about Paul:

At 16, Lekakis got a job waiting tables at Zippers, a gay watering hole in nearby New Rochelle, and soon dropped out of high school to devote his full time to training in the art of being fabulous.

That training definitely paid off, because here’s Paul spreading the glitter and delivering massive amounts of aerobics class fabulousness during a performance:

“I loved him in Who’s The Boss!” shouted all of you who didn’t know what Paul Lekakis looked like.

And to the makers of the blasphemous Jem and the Holograms feature film: THAT performance has the vibe your movie should’ve had.
