Hot Slut Of The Day!

Charlie the Elvis impersonator (as played by THEE Bruce McGill) from Into the Night!

Sometimes your best education comes from flipping through the movie channels on a Friday night. On Friday night, I was looking for something to waste my time on when I landed on some movie starring a young, hot Jeff Goldblum in a corduroy blazer, Michelle Pfeiffer, Dan Akroyd, Versa Miles AND David Bowie as a hitman. How did I not know this movie existed? Why didn’t they cover this movie in school? The Los Angeles County school system failed me again!

Michelle Pfeiffer made 1985’s Into the Night after Grease 2 and Scarface, which is weird to me. It’s weird to me that she didn’t retire right after making Grease 2 since Grease 2 was a career high and nothing could ever come to close topping it. Into the Night was directed by John Landis and it’s about a sad insomniac (played by Jeff Goldblum) who hates his job, hates his life and hates his wife for cheating on his ass. One night, he drives to LAX to clear his mind and while in the parking lot, a hot chick (played by Michelle Pfeiffer) jumps in his car and screams at him to drive away. Michelle is running from four Iranians who are after her because she smuggled priceless jewels from the Shah of Iran’s treasury into the country. Hijinks ensue and she drags Jeff Goldblum all over the city while running away from hos trying to get her. That shit was the blueprint for Who’s That Girl? and Desperately Seeking Susan.

During their adventures, Michelle and Jeff go to her brother’s apartment where she stays when she’s not traveling the world. Michelle’s brother is played by Bruce McGill and it’s a role he was born to play since he looks so much like Michelle Pfeiffer. Michelle’s brother is an Elvis impersonator who’s obsessed with Elvis. Thanks to that eyeliner, he looks more like an early days Rosie O’Donnell impersonator. Bruce McGill isn’t in that mess of a movie that much, but his moments are magical.

If you’re uneducated trash like me who had no idea this movie existed, here’s the trailer:

A dangerous romance! Oh, the 80s. You’re like an onion of foolery. Just when I think I’ve pulled back the last layer, you give me another one.
