Michael Jace From The Shield Charged With Murder After Admitting To Shooting His Wife (UPDATE)

May 20, 2014 / Posted by:

In “fucked up, tragic news to wake up to” news, Michael Jace, who played the self-hating closeted gay cop Julien Lowe on The Shield, murdered his wife April Jace at their home in the Hyde Park area of L.A. last night and then called 911 and admitted that he shot her.

TMZ says that Michael Jace’s neighbors called 911 at around 8:30 last night to report shots fired and a quick minute later, he called the police himself and admitted that he shot his wife. He stayed on the phone with 911 until the cops arrived at his house. TMZ says that Michael was home by himself when April and their two kids, who are both under 10 years old, showed up. As soon as April came through the door, he shot her.

To make a horrifying situation even more horrifying, TMZ says that Michael shot April in front of his two little kids. They kids weren’t harmed physically, but obviously they’re in a bad way on the inside and were taken to a neighbor’s house. Michael was arrested and is currently being booked for murder. He’s being held on $1 million, so if Michael Chiklis gets a call from the police station this morning, he better pick up and immediately hang up.

I didn’t really watch The Shield, because it felt weird watching The Commish not play The Commish. But in the one episode I did see, Officer Julien and some other officers brutally beat up a drag queen and he did it to hide his gayness. So Officer Julien marrying his beard to cover up his gayness and then shooting her seems like a plot straight out of The Shield. That’s all I’ve got.

And after reading all that you really need a video of a silly bunny washing itself in a water bowl, here you go.

UPDATE: TMZ says that Michael and April were fighting about money before he shot her. Their house was facing foreclosure and he filed for bankruptcy in 2011.
