Finally, Sherri Shepherd Gives Her Thoughts About Gay People

The box of rock dust from The View wants everyone to know that she doesn’t hate gays and you shouldn’t stamp the word “homophobe” on her forehead. During an interview with Alicia Menendez for Fusion (via HuffPo), Sherri said that some think she’s a gay hater, because she’s Christian and has said before that she was taught to believe that being gay is a sin that will earn you a place on Hell’s guest list. (Phil Robertson, is that you, girl?) But Sherri says that she doesn’t throw holy water at gay people and she loves you even if she doesn’t agree with your “lifestyle.”

“I might not agree with your lifestyle, but I love you. You may not agree with my lifestyle, but you love me … I don’t say it’s a choice. If you tell me, ‘Sherri, I was born gay.’ Okay. I’m not gonna argue with you, because I can’t tell you how you feel and what’s going on inside. I’m trying to make it into heaven by the skin of my teeth … I don’t know who I’m gonna see. So if you tell me you’re born [gay], I’m not gonna argue with you. And I absolutely respect you for that. I just ask that people respect how I feel, [I] respect how you feel and we can have a great dialogue.”

Oh, Sherri, I may not agree with you thinking the world is shaped like a pancake and for not knowing how many abortions you’ve had and for being dumber than a broken vibrator, but I still lo- No, no, I don’t. I cannot tell a lie.
