Ashley started her career by playing the impressively annoying Chrissy Seaver on Growing Pains. Remember when Chrissy was a newborn one season and then magically turned into a 6-year-old the next? Yeah, they never discussed that Chrissy obviously suffered from cerebral gigantism or some shit. Chrissy drove me crazy, because she mumbled like her tongue was made of tacks. When Growing Pains ended, Ashley achieved the impossible by bringing the world the worst Annie ever (that’s saying a lot, because Annie is awful) in a TV sequel to Annie. But Ashley redeemed herself when she played the tomboy friend to the little boy on All-American Girl. I identified with Ashley, because we were both curly heads (or a “frogay” as many of the assholes at school called me). Ashley is all grown up now, doing acting stuff and has obviously become best friends with a flat iron.
