After rising at 3.30am and starting work at six, Sarah Kennedy can be forgiven for not always being on top form.

She mispronounced words and let sentences tail off incoherently throughout her 90-minute stint on the Dawn Patrol.

At one stage, the 57-year-old broadcaster referred to a "pink polka blot" dress, described the victim in the Phil Spector murder trial as having a "gunshot to her month", and, bizarrely, offered to send some "panties" to soldiers in Afghanistan.

The Lego Man from the sea!

 

A giant, smiling Lego man was fished out of the sea in the Dutch resort of Zandvoort on Tuesday. Workers at a drinks stall rescued the 2.5-metre (8-foot) tall model with a yellow head and blue torso.

"We saw something bobbing about in the sea and we decided to take it out of the water," said a stall worker. "It was a life-sized Lego toy."
