Award Shows

Rosario Dawson, Jessica Biel and Matthew Perry got up early this morning to present the Golden Globe Nominations. There weren't many surprises, but many were shocked to see Apocacrapto and Letters from Iwa Jima in the Foreign Film category even though they are both American films. Babel scored the most nominations with 7. Here's the rundown:

Golden Globe nominations will be presented by Scarlett Johansson, Matthew Perry and Jessica Biel on Thursday morning. This is sort of a preview to the way the Oscar nominations will play out. Several cities have already given out their pics for Best Picture and other categories.

Sorry, I care way too much about this stuff. From the looks of it, Helen Mirren is a lock for Best Actress. Like anybody else shouldn't even bother. She's winning everything and if Arby's gave a Best Actress award they would give it to her. I think Forest Whitaker is also pretty much locked. As for Best Picture, United 93?!!!! WTF!?

Heath Ledger met one of the characters from my favorite shows ever, Kath & Kim, yesterday at the AFI Awards in Australia. Sharon (the character) gave Heath a big kiss along with Danni Minogue. Heath brought his sister (in the black) and posed with Hairy Potter and that skank that slept with Ryan Phillippe.

Is Heath on the sauce? He's looking greasy and beat down. That being said, I'd hit it.

Mary J. Blige picked up 8 Grammy nominations today. Red Hot Chili Peppers received 6. The awards will be announced February 11, 2007 in Los Angeles. Justin Timberlake, Mary, James Blunt, Chris Brown, KT Tunstall, Amy Lee, Ludacris, Corinne Bailey Rae and Rascal Flatts announced the nominations this morning.

Album of the year nominees went to the Dixie Chicks, Gnarls Barkley, John Mayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Justin Timberlake.

American Idol winner Carrie Underwood was nominated for best new artist.

Unfortunately, Parasite Hilton sucked the wrong dicks and didn't receive one nomination.

Janet Jackson looked pretty hot at last night's Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. Her new wig was a cross between Posh's do and Gwen's do. She would've looked much hotter without Troll Dupree, but you can't have it all. He didn't even try to dress up. He looked like he was making a chicken run.

Like most of the performances last night, she sucked. Her dancing was painful and you could barely hear her. I'm also over the showing your abs bullshit.

Is Gwen Stefani trying out for a role in The Jetsons movie? I'm all for trying new things, but didn't she do this in the 90's when she was "ska?" Homegirl is trying too hard these days to be that fashion icon everybody wants her to be. That dress looks like it's made of plaster. Gavin Rossdale is outshining her fug ass! Her performance at the Billboard Music Awards last night was another story. That song could kill small children.

I give credit where credit is due! Well, most of the time. Pamela Anderson made one of her first appearances last night as a single lady. She showed up at the Arby's Sports Awards in Los Angeles? Arby's?! I have no idea what kind of award show that is, but I'm suddenly hungry for horsey sauce.

It was announced yesterday that Britney Spears and Paris Hilton would co-host next week's Billboard Music Awards together. The new BFFs were going to take their friendship to the world's stage. Fortunately for us, this is not going to happen. Us Weekly reports that Britney has backed out and did not give a reason.

Yesterday, manager and lawyers for both Paris and Britney were meeting with Fox to discuss the details of their contract. At 5pm Britney quickly pulled out leaving Paris by herself. A source said, "We really don't know the reason. But we're disappointed she backed out."

Fox will most likely replace Paris since she can hardly read cue cards and won't be a good host. Has Britney finally listened to her fans and dumped that piece of trash? One can only hope!
