Open Post: Hosted By The Trailer For “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story”

August 29, 2022 / Posted by:

Earlier this year we learned Daniel Radcliffe was going to play Weird Al Yankovic in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, which will, for some insane reason, stream exclusively on The Roku Channel. Today, the trailer dropped, and it looks like the movie is a send-up of gritty Oscar-baity music biopics. We see Weird Al lose himself to drugs and booze (the real Al is a teetotaler), have a steamy affair with Madonna (Evan Rachel Wood), and viciously put out a cigarette on Will Forte’s hand. So this flick’s a parody of a parodist. Trippy.

Marilyn Manson Is Suing Evan Rachel Wood For Fraud, Defamation, And Conspiracy

March 3, 2022 / Posted by:

Evan Rachel Wood has spoken publicly about being a victim of domestic and sexual abuse at the hands of a former partner (she took her story all the way to a House Judiciary Committee in 2018, in an effort to help get a sexual assault survivor’s bill passed). And last year, she named said abuser as Marilyn Manson, with who she was with from 2006 to 2010. Many women have also come forward and accused Marilyn Manson (real name: Brian Warner) of several forms of abuse. Just four months ago, police raided his house after receiving a warrant in an ongoing sexual assault investigation. So it’s enough evidence to make skeptics think, “Yeah, that’s not good” and believers say, “Oh, he totally did that shit.” But Marilyn is still claiming innocence and is suing Evan Rachel Wood for allegedly cooking up false allegations against him.

Daniel Radcliffe Will Play Weird Al Yankovic In A Biopic

January 18, 2022 / Posted by:

Ray. Bird. Selena. Amadeus. Weird? Hell yes! Of course, Weird Al Yankovic belongs among the pantheon of great artists with first name recognition deserving of a feature-length biopic. And who better to play him than recent Golden Globe winner Nicole Kidman? Nobody, that’s right. But Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is being developed to stream exclusively on The Roku Channel, so obviously they can’t afford her. That means Daniel Radcliffe will be the one to sport a tragic wig and endure months of cynical skepticism that he doesn’t have what it takes to bring Weird Al to life. Nobody is going to buy a magical wizard boy as a professional accordion player. He doesn’t have the range.

Early Reviews Of “Mary Poppins Returns” Are Looking Good. Can We Say The Same About The Fashions At The Premiere?

November 30, 2018 / Posted by:

Last night was the world premiere of the much anticipated/hyped Mary Poppins Returns starring Emily Blunt as everybody’s favorite bitchy babysitter. The early reviews are in, and either nobody wants to be the Grinch who shat on Christmas, or it hit its mark. According to Cinema Blend, the majority of the reviews are overwhelmingly positive. One critic called it “practically perfect in every way“. And for the most part, the red carpet looks at the premiere were pretty good too, for the women and children. However, there was a problem in the menswear department.

Open Post: Hosted By Weird Al Yankovic Getting A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

August 28, 2018 / Posted by:

You’d be hard pressed to find a man in Hollywood more universally liked and respected than Weird Al Yankovic. Not only does he seem like a legitimately good guy, he’s earned himself a spot among the music industry elite having received 11 Grammy nominations, 4 wins and selling over 12 million albums (per Variety). That’s a better track record than half the acts he parodies. So it’s fitting that Weird Al has just been honored with Hollywood’s own parody of success; a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
