Wanda Sykes Will Host An MGM Viral Video Show Featuring Ring Camera Footage
The Ring camera has become one of the most sought-after home security devices in years. So naturally, Amazon, which owns Ring and MGM, has enlisted the help of television executives to make even more money off of it while delivering a Black Mirror-type show. In the vein of the iconic series America’s Funniest Home Videos, there will be a brand new show coming soon titled Ring Nation, which will feature submitted Ring footage. And Wanda Sykes has signed on to host.

As expected, the Oscars had three hosts last night: Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes. And they joked that the Academy hired three women because it’s cheaper than hiring one man. But after that, they all went in different directions. Wanda Sykes did Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall turned the Oscars into a dating show (while possibly catching a sexual harassment charge), and Amy Schumer decided to become the Ricky Gervais of the Oscars by mildly roasting tricks.

The 2022 Oscars are set for March 27, and even though we got the nominations last week, the Academy still hasn’t announced who’s hosting. Rumored contenders included Pete Davidson, and Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez from Only Murders in the Building. But now Variety is reporting that Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, and Regina Hall are in final talks to co-host together. Errr, together but separate. Apparently, producer Will Packer wants to split the show into three acts, with each woman hosting a different hour. So there’s still a very good chance this shit won’t pass the Bechdel test.
Wanda Sykes Showed Scott Baio Who’s Really In Charge
As if our current political discourse wasn’t ridiculous enough as it is, alleged tiny dick haver and Donald Trump superfan Scott Baio has entered the chat. Last week, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden got his gaffe on when his appearance on The Breakfast Club ended with him saying “you ain’t black” [if you vote for Trump]. At the time, Wanda Sykes, comedian and former producer/writer for the revival of Roseanne, defended Joe’s remarks on Twitter, saying that it was a (bad) joke and at least “he didn’t say 2 go shoot Clorox in our tits.” Scott, presumably still smarting from having recently injected Clorox in his tits, took offense. Scott thought he was back in charge of something and tried to let Wanda know what time it was. Lo and behold, he must have one of those sex watches like Drake has, because he was spot on! It absolutely was Wanda’s Foot Up His Ass-O’Clock.
Halle Berry Thinks “Catwoman” Deserves Another Chance
Halle Berry was a presenter at the GLAAD Media Awards on Thursday and took a moment to mention one of the greatest films of all time – 2004’s Catwoman – and declare that she thought it deserved another “goddamn chance.” YES, IT DOES. The only thing wrong with this emancipation of a bad movie proclamation was Halle not working that Clan of the Cave Bear braid that she was sporting last summer. That braid took us all to Fascination Street. Was it for a movie? Was she exploring the woodlands in a much more barbaric time? Bring that braid back, Ms Berry. And lobby for a release a Criterion Collection cut of Catwoman, already. Sharon Stone (she played the villain) has already got an outfit for the release party to go with her derisive laughter.
Wanda Sykes Says Netflix Offered Her Even Less Than Mo’Nique For A Comedy Special
Mo’Nique has recently called for a boycott of Netflix based on color and gender bias when they offered her a pittance ($500,000) compared to what they offered Amy Schumer ($11 million), Dave Chappelle ($20 million) and Chris Rock (also $20 million). While her boycott may not have gotten a lot of traction, a lot of people have thanked her for starting an important conversation. Wanda Sykes is one of those people. Wanda, who arguably has a much higher profile than Mo’Nique, says Netflix offered her even less.
