Say what you will about Hillsong Church’s anti-LGBTQ views and cringe-inducing pastors, but its contributions to the arts, specifically in the art of soul-stirring poetry, simply cannot be dismissed. Hillsong devotee and burgeoning bard Justin Bieber has been bested in verse by his brother in worship, Chris Pratt. Chris posted a poem he “found” on Instagram which not only affirms his political affiliations (he’s writing in God for 2020), it contains a rhyme scheme so intricate and unique, mere mortals are unable to detect it. #RhymesOnlyAngelsCanHear
Chris Pratt’s Gadsden Flag T-Shirt Caused A Stir On Twitter
Another day, another life or death battle for the very soul of America rages on. The other day Loud’nProud patriot Chris Pratt stepped out wearing a t-shirt featuring the words “Don’t Tread On Me” and a snake, which are associated with the Gadsden flag. The image was superimposed over the red, white and blue stars and stripes of the American flag. Yahoo! reported on the lewk, initially saying he was criticized for wearing a ‘white supremacist’ T-shirt’ and of course, because of #thesetryingtimes, all hell done broke loose. Yahoo! later amended the headline to read he was criticized for his “t-shirt choice”, but it was too late. Conservatives and liberals alike #TookToTwitter to express their general outrage.
A Petition Asking HBO To Remake Season 8 Of “Game Of Thrones” Has Nearly Reached Its Goal
Look, things are bleak in #thesetryingtimes, and a certain sense of hopelessness in the face of powerful men making decisions that are contrary to the ideals of fairness, autonomy, and empathy we were once taught were the cornerstones of a democracy, is to be expected. Things are spiraling out of control and people are desperate to assert power over their own destinies, and to secure the R’hllor given rights of Jon Snow to sit on the Iron Throne over some stringy haired, hysterical woman who is clearly on her period. I’m assuming that’s what drove nearly 500,000 people to take time out of their workday and sign a Change.org petition calling for HBO to remake the entirety of Game Of Thrones’ 8th season. And I get it. I really do. What’s going on with Game Of Thrones is pretty much the only thing keeping me up at night these days too.

During his first public appearance after he claimed he was attacked by racist, homophobic, MAGA-loving thugs, Jussie Smollett took to the stage and declared himself “the Gay Tupac”. Well, according to this morning’s press conference held by Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson, it would have been more accurate to call himself the “black Keyser Söze” (the “gay Keyser Söze” was, of course, already taken by Kevin Spacey, and Jussie’s career is probably about to have similar trajectory).
Donald Trump Commented On The Attack Of Jussie Smollett As It Pertains To The Wall
Our fearless leader Donald Trump is really something else. Call him what you will, but at least he’s consistent. Who else could turn a direct question about the attack on Jussie Smollett into a diatribe about his fucking wall. During an Oval Office press conference, Omarosa’s sworn enemy (and therefore a hero of mine) April Ryan asked Trump if he had any comment on Jussie’s racist and homophobic ordeal. Before she could finish her question, Trump jumped in with some milquetoast platitudes and immediately pivoted his comments to discuss the fact that we’re allowing drug dealers and human traffickers into this country, calling that “the worst sin”. So sorry, folks. Per the President of the United States, words and their inherent meanings have been cancelled until further notice.
Tiffany Haddish Bombed At A NYE Stand-Up Performance In Miami
Booking a New Year’s Eve show in a major city is a pretty impressive feather for any stand-up comedian’s cap. Unfortunately for Tiffany Haddish, the feather wasn’t tightly secured and fell off and got trampled during her set at Miami’s James L. Knight Center. Tiffany was not ready and bombed spectacularly. And because #thesetryingtimes continue a pace in 2019, some clown recorded it and posted in on Twitter, prompting harsh backlash to Tiffany’s terrible, horrible, no good, very bad night.
