As you know, it’s been reported that Ariana Grande will not be clipping in her 7-foot long ponytail, slipping on her tallest-heeled thigh-highs, rolling up the sleeves to her immensely-long sweater, and sashaying down the red carpet of the Grammys on Sunday. Despite being nominated twice. The rumor was that she was pissed those music prudes wouldn’t let her sing 7 Rings and so she quit that bitch. Well, after the Grammys made a lacklustre statement about Ariana’s non-attendance, she got even more pissed and decided to lay them out as she’s done to many a Piers Morgan before them.
I don’t know whether to laugh or be offended because this just isn’t right. But it’s reportedly happening. During the Grammys this Sunday Jennifer Lopez, the #2 member of the Alex Rodriguez Fan Club (because make no mistake he’s #1) will be performing a tribute to the legendaryMotown. Motown is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. And so far reactions have ranged from “Nope!” to “HELL NOPE!”
Since we’re almost balls deep into awards season, many ladies will be downing the laxative tea and sucking in their guts to put on designer gowns that a panel of frumpy folks will judge and critique the following day. That is unless their dress size comes in around a size 8 or so. Because according to Grammy nominated Bebe Rexha, many designers have pulled out their crosses and grabbed holy water to throw at her since a size 8 in the designer world is blasphemy. But Bebe isn’t just crying into a vat of ice cream over this discrimination, she’s speaking out for all the thick girls everywhere.
Critics’ darling Frank Ocean withdrew his hugely successful (both critically and commerically) Blonde album from Grammy consideration this year and won’t be performing.
In an interview with Rolling Stone (via Pitchfork), Grammy producers Ken Ehrlich and David Wild were asked why this was so. They responded by opining that Frank’s performance of his song “Forrest Gump” at the 2013 Grammys sucked and that he didn’t want to give us the sequel. Frank took to Tumblr to refute this, and explain exactly why he wasn’t Grammy-bound this year. And it’s all Taylor Swift’s fault (everything is)!
