“Bridgerton” Is Getting A Spinoff About A Young Queen Charlotte

May 17, 2021 / Posted by:

Bridgerton, the Shonda Rhimes fancy wig show that became Netflix’s biggest hit to date, is getting its very own spinoff. The limited prequel series will go back in time and follow the origin story of Bridgerton’s Queen Charlotte. The character, currently played by Golda Rosheuvel, is based on the real Queen Charlotte (1744-1818), who married King George, the dude best known for going “mad”.

The spinoff will also tell the backstories of young Violet Bridgerton (the mom) and Lady Danbury (the Duke’s mentor). What about the messy, manipulative Baroness Featherington? If she’s not in the spinoff, please consider giving her one of her own. And casting a scheming little weasel with cleavage?

Netflix’s “Bridgerton” Was Viewed By 82 Million Households Making It Their Biggest Hit To Date

January 28, 2021 / Posted by:

Never underestimate the power of a hot ass. And candy-colored brocade. But mostly butts. That’s the not-so-secret formula that made Bridgerton, Shonda Rhimes’ first offering in her multi-million dollar Netflix deal, an incredible hit. Thanks in no small part to Regé-Jean Page’s thrusting buttocks, Bridgerton is now Netflix’s biggest hit to date, drawing the eyeballs of 82 million households (via CNN). That’s a lot of eyeballs! Poor Regé-Jean’s ass is likely to burst into flames under that kind of scrutiny. And such, I’d like to take the opportunity right here, in writing, to offer Regé-Jean my services should he need someone to tenderly slather his singed buns with some double-cream butter. I’ll even churn it myself!

Netflix Has Renewed “Bridgerton” For A Second Season

January 21, 2021 / Posted by:

Today in “duh”, Netflix renewed Bridgerton for a second season. The series, produced by Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland, was a huge hit when it premiered on Christmas Day, so this comes as no surprise. If you haven’t watched, Bridgerton is basically Gossip Girl meets Pride & Prejudice. An anonymous gossipmonger in Regency-era London named “Lady Whistledown” (voiced by JULIE ANDREWS) narrates the series and fucks up everyone’s lives by spilling all their tea in a newsletter. The main romance is between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dyvenor) and the sexy/grumpy Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page). It’s hot.

Isaiah Washington Dragged Katherine Heigl For Calling Him Out More Than A Decade Ago

November 17, 2020 / Posted by:

Back in 2007, Isaiah Washington got fired from Grey’s Anatomy for calling T.R. Knight a homophobic slur during an on-set fight with Patrick Dempsey. T.R.’s bestie, Katherine Heigl, defended T.R. and dragged the shit out of Isaiah, suggesting he should never be allowed to speak publicly. And over a decade later, Isaiah got bored and decided to drag the megastar who we all care about, Katherine Heigl, on Twitter. It’s actually surprising that Isaiah was able to tweet because you’d think he’d have calluses on his hands from holding onto a grudge for so long.

Shonda Rhimes Quit ABC After They Played Dirty With A Disneyland Pass

October 21, 2020 / Posted by:

A little over three years ago, Shonda Rhimes announced she was leaving her longtime home at ABC and going to Netflix, and it made everyone wonder just how much cash Netflix gave her. Because that’s the only thing that could have pulled Shonda away from her lucrative contract with ABC, right? Money? Lots and lots of money? Shonda recently spilled all the beans during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, and we were all wrong. Shonda says it was because ABC made her beg for an all-access pass to Disneyland, a pass they then secretly reneged on, which they then had the audacity to accuse her of being greedy. To quote Goofy: gawrsh.

Ellen Pompeo Says There Were Some Toxic Years On The “Grey’s Anatomy” Set

June 5, 2019 / Posted by:

Ellen Pompeo was recently interviewed by someone else who is very familiar with on-set drama, Taraji P. Henson, for Variety. Taraji – who will have spent six seasons playing Cookie Lyon on Empire by the time it ends next year – asked Ellen how she managed to clock in every day for 15 seasons. The quick answer would be: a check. But Ellen says there were moments she wanted “off this bus” and says the Grey’s Anatomy of today is way better than when Grey’s Anatomy fist started shooting. Yeah, that’s not exactly a revelation for anyone with any tabloid knowledge of Grey’s early years.
