Now For The Messy Fashion Of The Critics’ Choice Awards

January 12, 2018 / Posted by:

Hollywood decided to wear black at the Golden Globes last Sunday night in silent protest of the industry’s sexual assault problem. But four days later, most Hollywood people at the Critics’ Choice Awards went with color.

Kate Bosworth didn’t wear color, but she did wear a mess. Kate is wearing a dress by Brock Collection, but if I hadn’t been told who made her dress, I’d assume she went into a formal event showroom on a particularly dry day, collected too much static electricity while trying on a bridal gown with her socks on, and accidentally left the store with a child’s christening gown that was stuck to her. The best part is that the fun didn’t end when Kate turned around.

Angelina Jolie Decided To Fulfill Someone’s Feathered 60s Fantasy Last Night (And Other Looks From The Golden Globes)

January 8, 2018 / Posted by:

Almost everyone who walked the Golden Globes red carpet this year wore black to protest Hollywood’s sexual misconduct problem. One thing that wasn’t being protested was good taste. There were a lot of black velvet outfits on that red carpet. Sure, it’s a bit of an obvious choice, but a choice I was absolutely here for, because anything that makes my brain start blasting “Black Velvet” by Alannah Myles gets two thumbs up from me.

But some people went a little more experimental with their all-black interpretation. Like Angelina Jolie, who showed up to the Golden Globes in some goth Lawrence Welk Show realness by Atelier Versace. It’s a little Barbra Streisand at the 1969 Oscars, with a splash of 60s televangelist, all poured onto a fainting couch and garnished with, “But detective, I swear my husband was dead when I found him!

Ariel Winter Managed To Get Two Times The Attention At The Emmys

September 18, 2017 / Posted by:

Attention enthusiasts know that the Emmys are a tasteful affair; you’ve got to balance out your ass with some class. Thankfully, Ariel Winter showed everyone last night how to do it. Ariel came in a dress by Steven Khalil featuring not one, but two crotch-high leg slits. Angelina, who? I’m sure her dress was very expensive, so for those of you hoping to find the look for less, I would probably suggest Craigslist the day after the next AVN awards.

Poussey From “OITNB” Got Married Over The Weekend

March 27, 2017 / Posted by:

On Saturday, Samira Wiley (aka Poussey from Orange Is The New Black) got married to her fiancée of five months, OITNB writer Lauren Morelli. All the details of their wedding are from Martha Stewart Weddings. Samira and Lauren got married in Palm Springs, CA, the ceremony was officiated by Samira’s parents, and they walked up the aisle to Montell Jordan’s This Is How We Do It.

This is 29-year-old Samira’s first marriage and 34/35-year-old Lauren’s second. Lauren was married to a man when she started writing for OITNB. Writing about Piper and Alex’s relationship made Lauren realize she was a lesbian, and that’s when she quit her husband after two years and got with Samira.

Martha Stewart Weddings also released a picture of their wedding day. They look like the cover of a romance novel called Don’t Let Your Uncle Sit On The Furniture, We Don’t Want Stains.

Martha Stewart Weddings says that Samira and Lauren’s wedding was inspired by their love of Funfetti cake. But what Martha Stewart Weddings fails to mention is if they had a Funfetti wedding cake. Palm Springs is hot, and anyone who has ever gone to a summertime birthday party knows that Funfetti frosting doesn’t do heat. Thankfully they were covered in the event that the heat turned their dessert table into a melted pile of unicorn discharge. MSW says that Samira and Lauren walked into their reception to Justin Bieber’s Baby. Good thinking, girls. Your guests can’t be grossed out if they’re too busy trying to get that annoying song out of their heads.
