Producers Told Employees Of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” That The Show Will Go On
It’s all hands on deck/boar on the floor at The Ellen Degeneres Show as producers scramble to right the ship. According to Us Weekly, on Monday, producers held a staff meeting assuring employees that “the show will go on” and that they are doing everything possible to ensure that people “have fun at work,” because “a show that brings so much happiness and fun, it should be a happy show to work on.” To that end, ice cream and tickle breaks between floggings will be the new norm.

When we last checked in with the saga between Ellen DeGeneres and those reputation-killing accusations, we were dealing with conflicting reports regarding her future as the host of her daytime TV talk show Ellen. There was one report that claimed Ellen couldn’t see how she could carry on with business as usual, what with all the stories about how working on the show is awful. But there was also talk that Ellen had no plans to leave her show and that she was fighting to make it a better place. Well, much like her invitation to Dakota Johnson’s birthday party, it sounds like Ellen is ready to bail. But no matter what she inevitably chooses to do, her wife of nearly 12 years Portia de Rossi is sticking with her.

2020 just keeps getting shittier for Ellen DeGeneres (and literally every other citizen of Planet Earth). TMZ says Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi’s fancy Montecito estate was burglarized on July 4 (rude, that’s America’s birthday!). Cops say their mansion was “targeted due to the victim’s celebrity status”, and don’t know if it’s connected to a bunch of other recent break-ins. The thieves took a bunch of expensive jewelry and watches. So far no word on the value of the items stolen.

She should be a multiple Daytime Emmy winner for Best Actress, because the sugar-coated sweetheart of niceness she plays on her talk show Ellen is far from the real Ellen who can make Satan cry for his mommy and cause the Grinch to squirt out real tears with just one extra-sharpened shank eye. Ellen did an interview with The New York Times to promote her Netflix stand-up special and admitted that she plays a nice-ified version of herself for the retiree, stay-at-home mom and unemployed crowd, but says that the stories about her being an ice cold demon from the Ninth Circle to her employees is as laughable as my mom saying, “I think Ellen’s a great dancer!”
