Nelly used to be the Band-Aid enthusiast who gave instructions on the best way to deal with a sudden rise in indoor temperature (1. Take off all your clothes). Lately he’s been known more as someone who has been racking up sexual assault allegations. A few weeks ago, Nelly was accused for a second and third time of sexual assault by two women in the UK, known only as Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2. One of those allegations caught the attention of the police, and now Nelly is under a criminal investigation.
Two new accusations of sexual assault against Nelly have surfaced in conjunction with an ongoing civil lawsuit against him. University of Washington student Monique Greene is suing Nelly for sexual assault, libel, slander and defamation stemming from an encounter with the singer on his tour bus last October. Monique claims that Nelly brought her onto his tour bus after a concert, raped her and unceremoniously (and literally) kicked her to the curb.
Even though he escaped criminal prosecution after being arrested for allegedly raping a woman on his tour bus, TMZ reports that Nelly is now facing a lawsuit filed by the alleged victim of that alleged assault. Note to Merriam Webster: Please consider “alleged” for word of the year.
Early 00’s hip-hop throwback Nelly was arrested on rape charges last Saturday. A woman accused him of sexually assaulting her on his tour bus after a concert in Auburn, Washington. TMZ reports that the alleged victim is now requesting that the investigation be halted and the case closed. In a statement, her lawyer says that the woman feels that she would never be able to get justice seeing as she’s a civilian and Nelly is a formerly popular rapper who used to inexplicably wear Band-Aids on his face.
TMZ says that Nelly has been hit with a real dilemma (I promise that will be the only stupid Nelly pun in this post), and things are getting hot in herre for him (I lied). Even one of Nelly’s old cheek Band-Aids can’t fix this mess. Nelly was put into handcuffs in Auburn, Washington early this morning after a woman claimed she was raped by him on his tour bus.
The year is 2016, so there are only two reasons for why I’d writing about Nelly. Either I’m bringing you the news that Nelly called up Kelly Rowland and in a moment of weakness she agreed to record “Dilemma Pt. 2“, or it’s because he’s currently dealing with a no-money situation. It’s the second.
