A California Jury Found Harvey Weinstein Guilty On Three Charges Of Sexual Assault

December 20, 2022 / Posted by:

The sequel to Harvey Weinstein’s own personal #MeToo movement, #WaitMeAgain?, premiered on Monday when Harvey was found guilty on three charges of rape and sexual assault in a Los Angeles courtroom where he was on what they call in the business, a trial vacation. In the summer of 2021, Harvey was compelled to travel from his jail cell in New York, where has been serving 23 years for rape and sexual assault in that state, to a jail cell in California to stand trial against seven charges of sexual assault. While the accommodations offered to him during his stay in California may not have been what he would have chosen, they were comped through the government’s Frequent Felon program, so take any reviews he may have left on AirBnA.gov with a grain of salt.

Brendan Fraser Says He Will Not Attend The Golden Globes If He’s Nominated For “The Whale” Because Of The Former HFPA Member Who Groped Him

November 16, 2022 / Posted by:

In 2018, Brendan Fraser went public with his #MeToo story. He shared that, back in 2003, he was groped at a party by Philip Berk, the former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. In 2021, Philip was expelled from HFPA after emailing an article to his fellow members that described Black Lives Matter as a “racist hate movement.” Creepy and racist? What a guy! Fast forward to now. Brendan is getting awards buzz for his performance in The Whale. In an interview with GQ for their Man of the Year cover story (he’s their Comeback of the Year), 53-year-old Brendan says that if he ends up getting nominated for a Golden Globe, he won’t go to the ceremony. He explains he has “more history” with HFPA than he has respect for HFPA, adding, “My mother didn’t raise a hypocrite.”

Dustin Hoffman Gave Geena Davis Advice On How To Shut Down Sexual Advances From Jack Nicholson

October 21, 2022 / Posted by:

The legendary Geena Davis has written a biography, entitled, Dying of Politeness: A Memoir. Let me get this straight: overly polite, gorgeous, and a working actress since 1982? Obviously, 66-year-old Geena has enough horrifying #MeToo tales to fill a book. And that’s exactly what she did. Last week, Geena jumped on the Bill Murray Is A Creepy Prick bandwagon when she accused the actor of inappropriately using a massage device on her while making their 1990 film Quick Change. Then, this week, in an interview with The New Yorker, Geena revealed that her Tootsie co-star, Dustin Hoffman, gave her some advice on how to shut down Jack Nicholson’s sexual advances. Awww, good for Dustin! It’s always encouraging to hear about a male ally who– wait, you say 85-year-old Dustin Hoffman has also been accused of sexual harassment? Goddammit.

Anna Faris Names Ivan Reitman As The Director Who Harassed Her On Set

October 19, 2022 / Posted by:

Back in 2017, when the #MeToo floodgates first opened, Anna Faris revealed she had been harassed on set by a male director. She said this guy had slapped her ass in front of the crew and told her agent he’d hired her cuz of her “great legs.” Now, exactly five years later, Anna has named her harasser. It’s Ivan Reitman, who directed Anna in 2006’s My Super Ex-Girlfriend. Ivan is best known for making comedies like Ghostbusters, Meatballs, Stripes, Twins, and Kindergarten Cop. He passed away this past February at age 75. Funnily enough (well, not funny “haha”), this story comes out as more and more people go public with accusations about Bill Murray, Ivan’s frequent collaborator in the eighties. I swear to God, if we find out the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man is a sex pest, I will lose all faith in humanity.

October 10, 2022 / Posted by:

So many alleged and convicted sex offenders, so little time. According to Deadline, veteran defendants Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein, and consequences newcomers, former Scientologist Paul Haggis and current Scientologist Danny Masterson will each have their day/s in court this fall.

Arcade Fire’s Win Butler Has Been Accused Of Sexual Misconduct By Four People

August 29, 2022 / Posted by:

Today in “Trust No Man, No Matter How Much You Enjoy Their Music/Movies/TV/Art”, Win Butler of the band Arcade Fire has been accused of sexual misconduct and assault. On Saturday, Pitchfork published a lengthy exposé detailing allegations made by four people: three women and one gender-fluid person, who were all between the ages of 18 and 23 when their interactions with Win occurred (he was between 36 and 39). The now 42-year-old musician, who’s been married to bandmate Régine Chassagne since 2003, actually cooperated with Pitchfork and attempted to refute his accuser’s stories point by point. He also released a statement apologizing for any pain he caused, but insisted that everything was consensual. Win blames his bad behavior on mental health issues, abuse from his childhood, and a drinking problem he says he developed after wife Régine suffered a miscarriage (!!!!). Régine released her own statement, insisting that her husband “would never touch a woman without her consent and I am certain he never did.” So how did that convo go?: “Hey babe, you know how I cheated a bunch and now the chicks are saying it wasn’t consensual? Well, I blamed it on you having a miscarriage. Can you tell Pitchfork that I’m a good guy? Thaaanks.”
