Marvel Will Not Recast Chadwick Boseman’s Role Of T’Challa In “Black Panther II”

December 11, 2020 / Posted by:

Yesterday a bunch of new Marvel and Disney projects were announced at something called Disney Investor Day. Near the end of the presentation (which had Star Wars nerds jizzing from their pores [ew, I’m so sorry, everyone]), Marvel boss Kevin Feige paid tribute to the dearly departed Chadwick Boseman, who passed away from cancer at the way-too-young age of 43. Kevin also confirmed that the studio has no intention of recasting Chadwick’s role of T’Challa in the upcoming Black Panther sequel.

Tatiana Maslany Will Play She-Hulk On Disney+, And The Internet Has Thoughts

September 18, 2020 / Posted by:

When it was first announced last August that Disney would be working on a She-Hulk series, the internet did what the internet does best – they started dream casting. I’m sure Teresa Giudice thought she had this in the bag, considering she’s got the muscles, she’s great at acting, and can transform into a beast in seconds. One name that popped up over and over again was Alison Brie, who has spent a couple seasons on GLOW flexing, screaming, and beating ass. And at one point, the internet was somewhat convinced she had it. But it looks like Disney is going with Tatiana Maslany.

Robert Downey Jr. Is Pretty Much Officially Retired From The Marvel Cinematic Universe

September 4, 2020 / Posted by:

Well, there goes my future-hope of an Iron Man spin-off franchise called Iron Supplement-Poppin’ Grandpa. Although I should not be surprised. Robert Downey Jr. said several years ago that he wanted to quit playing the titular Iron Man before it got embarrassing, and that he didn’t want to “drop the ball,” so to speak. And he won’t, because there are no balls to hold anymore. Robert Downey Jr. has confirmed that his appearances as Iron Man are done.

Olivia Wilde Will Direct An Upcoming Marvel Movie That Most Likely Involves Spider-Woman

August 20, 2020 / Posted by:

This is one of those Hollywood production rumors that make perfect sense right now, but would be confusing as hell if you heard it fifteen years ago. “Wait, a huge-budget Marvel movie will one day be directed by Alex the Bait Shop bartender from The O.C. who had a crush on Marissa, who is married to an Italian prince in real life?” Yes, that same person. Congratulations on your unlikely career trajectory, Olivia Wilde! Deadline is reporting that Olivia Wilde has closed a deal to direct a secret upcoming Marvel superhero film that will focus on a female superhero from the Marvel universe.

Anthony Mackie Says The Production On Marvel Movies Aren’t Diverse Enough

June 29, 2020 / Posted by:

Marvel’s Black Panther made a ton of money and won a bunch of awards. Ever since then, Marvel has been open to the idea of branching out from their core team of overwhelmingly white superheroes. Marvel is about to release The Eternals, which features a diverse cast and the first gay superhero. Marvel has also promised more gay characters, including a possible trans character (although we shouldn’t hold our breath for that). But while Marvel may be patting themselves on the back for being about 600% more diverse than the average DC superhero movie, they probably shouldn’t pat for too long, at least not according to Anthony Mackie.

Kumail Najiani Says That Getting Buff Gave Him Body Dysmorphia

March 10, 2020 / Posted by:

Kumail Najiani is still buff and he’s still talking about it. We’ve got another year of The Eternals promo to thank for this. Kumail is now covering the latest issue of Men’s Health, and he’s letting us know the dark-side to getting buff. He apparently developed body dysmorphia after getting a superhero bod.
