While the most horrific aspect of Harvey Weinstein’s saga was how he allegedly assaulted and harassed many, many women, there was also the bit about how he was the unofficial leader of the Marchesa Mafia. His soon-to-be ex-wife Georgina Chapman runs the brand, and Harvey would reportedly make the actresses in his movies wear Marchesa on the red carpet. Just ask Felicity Huffman! Now that Harvey is facing charges, women have been rallying around Georgina’s attempt to salvage a career since she claims she never suspected Harvey was such a pervy asshole. Scarlett Johansson worked Marchesa to this year’s Met Gala, and now Priyanka Chopra is having a go at it.
Georgina Chapman Says She Knew Nothing About The Dark Shit Her Husband Was Doing
Scarlett Johansson broke the Marchesa ban on Monday when she wore one their gowns to the Met Gala. ScarJo said she was proud to support a brand created by two female designers. Anna Wintour slow clapped for ScarJo wearing Marchesa and said that the brand’s co-creator Georgina Chapman shouldn’t be blamed for her estranged husband Harvey Weinstein being an alleged greasy ball of pig smegma rapist. (Actually, he’s a confirmed greasy ball of pig smegma. I should’ve just kept it simple and wrote alleged rapist.)
In the June issue of Vogue, Anna Wintour opens with an editor’s letter where she defends Georgina Chapman. And Vogue did an interview with Georgina where she claims she didn’t suspect for one second that Harvey’s a sexual assaulting creep. The return of Marchesa has begun.
Scarlett Johansson Showed Up To The The Met Gala In Marchesa
Before Harvey Weinstein was officially outed as the closest DNA relative to a bridge troll, it seemed as though every red carpet had at least one star in a Marchesa dress. Marchesa is co-owned by Harvey’s now-estranged wife Georgina Chapman. Then the stories about Harvey went public, and A-list actresses were running away from Marchesa as if it was a deep-fried gluten sandwich. Nobody wanted to wear Marchesa anymore. Well, nobody until Scarlett Johansson, who did just that at the Met Gala.
Don’t Hold Your Breath For That “Charmed” Reunion
You remember in the first Scream movie when Rose McGowan’s character tried to escape through the doggie access in the garage door and that asshole Ghostface flipped the switch? And she got smooshed? Well, that’s what Rose has been doing to Hollywood since she became one of the first female celebrities to speak openly about Harvey Weinstein. Showbiz has been trying to escape out the doggie door and Rose is smooshing those fools!
Sometime back, Rose shaved her head, said “EFF IT” to her career, loosened her cannon, and started tweeting. Since the Weinstein situation broke, she’s been calling everyone out in Hollywood whom she feels is either an abuser or complicit in said abuse.Take for example, her former Charmed co-star Alyssa Milano. Despite Alyssa’s now famous tweet urging her followers to use the #MeToo hashtag (that was started by social activist Tarana Burke in 2006), Rose remains unimpressed. Specifically, because Alyssa has also been going to bat for Harvey Weinstein’s now ex-wife, fashion designer Georgina Chapman. Much like you won’t see Rose wearing Marchesa anytime soon, you also won’t see her signing on to a Charmed reunion. Rose went in on Alyssa on Twitter on Friday.
