Sarah Jessica Parker Would Like You To Know She’s Not A Feminist

August 4, 2016 / Posted by:

I would have assumed that co-starring in one of the most iconic films about ride-or-die sisterhood of the 90s would put you on Team Feminism for life, but I would be wrong. Apparently Hocus Pocus didn’t have that kind of effect on Sarah Jessica Parker. SJP recently spoke to Marie Claire about her upcoming HBO show, Divorce, and they got into a heavy discussion about women’s issues, like the gender wage gap and speaking out about inequality in Hollywood. SJP believes in it all – equality, equal pay – but she doesn’t want to call it feminism. Girl Power? Maybe. Sisterhood? Whatever, sure. But not the F-word.

Demi Lovato Has More Thoughts On Taylor Swift’s Idea Of “Feminism”

May 19, 2016 / Posted by:

…and that’s why you can’t be in my friend club. I’m sorry, but I already have one non-skinny brunette and one half-Mexican former Disney child star. But if something opens up, I’ll, like, totally keep you in mind! I’m sure I have your number somewhere.

Shortly after a judge denied Kesha’s request to get out of her contract with Dr. Luke back in February, Demi Lovato looked in Taylor Swift’s direction and released a series of not-so-subtle tweets wondering why certain “self-proclaimed feminists” weren’t saying anything about the situation. Taylor responded by cutting Kesha a check for $250,000 and praying that such a gesture would shut Demi up. It didn’t. She kept on talking about it. Well, three months later, Demi is still talking about it. Grab a folding chair and a bag of popcorn, because it’s time once again for Demi Lovato to take shots at Taylor Swift.

Kaley Cuoco Wants You To Know She Is Definitely 100% A Feminist

March 3, 2016 / Posted by:

Asking random famous people about feminism felt like the sort of thing that had been left back in 2014 along with the ice bucket challenge and Alex from Target. However, Cosmopolitan decided to revisit some past feelings Kaley Cuoco once had about feminism and ask her if she still felt the same way.

Back in 2014, Kaley rustled a few jimmies by telling Redbook that she didn’t want to call herself a feminist because she liked to make dinner for her (now ex) husband, Ryan Sweeting. She later tried to clear it up by saying her words were taken out of context. It sounds like Kaley might have replaced all the time she used to spend making food for her husband with self-reflection, because she told Cosmo that she definitely considers herself a feminist now.

“Of course I’m a fucking feminist. Look at me. I bleed feminism. I get equal pay to my male costars on a big show, I have my own home, I’m as independent as you could possibly be.”

You get paid as much as your male costars? How nice for you” said the Kaley Cuoco of movies, Jennifer Lawrence.

She also sort of got into the death of her marriage by saying that it makes her sad and it changed the way she looks at marriage. I’m guessing one of those changes is that she won’t celebrate her next marriage by getting a tattoo of the wedding date.

So there you have it. Kaley Cuoco is a feminist. Now if only she’d give us some news we could really get excited about. Like that they’re planning a sequel to my favorite made-for-TV movie, Growing Up Brady, that would focus on all the behind-the-scenes dirt of A Very Brady Christmas. Surely I can’t be the only one who wants that.

Taylor Swift Wants You To Know There Are Unfair “Double-Standards” When It Comes To Singing About Your Feelings

May 19, 2015 / Posted by:

During a recent interview with Maxim magazine, who gave her the No. 1 spot on their Hot 100 list this year (and reused one of her greasy butterscotch runaway looks from November’s Wonderland for the cover), Taylor Swift was asked about feminism, specifically why she wants to talk about it all of a sudden. According to Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield’s long-lost triplet, feminism is important to her now because she’s tired of all the haters who continue to side-eye her for building a career out of turning her sad teen girl journal thoughts into several albums worth of catchy break-up songs while praising the dudes who are doing the same thing. Somewhere in a recording studio in Springfield, Kirk Van Houten just got very nervous.

Shailene Woodley Says There Are More Important Things To Talk About Than What She Thinks About Feminism

March 18, 2015 / Posted by:

About a year ago, TIME magazine asked spiritual millionaire Shailene Woodley if she considered herself a feminist, to which she answered with a long-winded thing about sisterhood and loving men and something something basically she said no. Shailene later confessed that she took a bit of shit for it and sort of Bye Felicia‘d all over the haters.

Obviously Shailene was done with that mess, but I guess Nylon didn’t get that memo, because during a recent interview with the backseat mistake baby of Kristen Stewart and The Lorax, they asked her to explain exactly why she told TIME that she doesn’t identify as a feminism. And not shockingly, Shailene wasn’t into it:

“The reason why I don’t like to say that I am a feminist or I am not a feminist is because to me it’s still a label. I do not want to be defined by one thing. Why do we have to have that label to divide us? We should all be able to embrace one another regardless of our belief system and regardless of the labels that we have put upon ourselves. I mean, if we spent as much energy focusing on the genocide that’s going on right now in parts of Africa as we spent on that one article, think about what we could accomplish.”

Shailene’s response sounds like the one I usually receive whenever I talk about how deeply upset I am that Skittles decided to change the green one from lime to green apple, and it’s usually accompanied by a Bitch, are you seriously complaining about candy? stank face.

But when will these tricks learn that trolling Shailene Woodley for her thoughts about feminism is getting sort of boring? Duh, of course she’s going to use 120 words to say she’s not into it. Instead, they should be trolling her for more stoner-sounding vaguely holistic hippie shit, like the benefits of drinking bone water. Can you even imagine the gold mine you’d hit if you opened an interview with “So Shailene, I’ve heard moonlight can cure a UTI…thoughts?”

And in case you were looking at that Nylon cover and wondering when Shailene Woodley turned into the greasy IT guy from your office, here she is looking more like herself at the New York premiere of Divergent: Insurgent on Monday night:

Kaley Cuoco Wants You To Know That Stuff She Said About Feminism In Redbook Was Taken Out Of Context

January 2, 2015 / Posted by:

Oh, here we go. It’s only the second day of 2015, and already a famous type is back-pedaling on comments they made in 2014. Earlier this week, an interview between busted butter-haired Big Bang Theory billionaire Kaley Cuoco and Redbook sort of made the eyebrows of the internet raise up in a “you want me to grab you a dictionary?” way when she answered the question of whether or not she consider herself a feminist by saying, no, she’s not, because she likes cooking dinner for her husband. Well, I guess she was tired of people sending her Why Not Both memes, because yesterday she took to Instagram to clarify that what she said about feminism wasn’t actually what she said:

Meanwhile, all the ladies in sensible shoes at Redbook just added the name KALEY CUOCO to their Two-Faced Skanks Who Done Did Redbook Dirty list. Nobody throws Redbook under the bus! “I don’t care if she does have a flattering hair cut – she’ll never describe her favorite way to unwind after a long day in Redbook again! Let Women’s World have her.”

And I’m still not sure what Kaley is trying to say, but I’m glad she did it this time without using lyrics from a Taylor Swift song. My brain thanks you, Kaley!
