Three years ago, Demi Lovato suffered a heroin overdose, which left Demi with the kind of lasting trauma that forced them to re-commit to a sober lifestyle. And Demi shared that they’d classify themselves as “California sober.” It may sound like a cute term, but not to Lala Kent, who has aggressively side-eyed Demi’s choice to be what Lala believes is sober-ish.

In February 2020, Demi Lovato received the great news that they were going to get their own talk show, creatively titled The Demo Lovato Show. And that show would premiere on Quibi, a platform set to launch just two months later. Great news! Except the only problem was, Quibi quickly went sour, and after trying with zero success to find a buyer willing to save it, Quibi was done by October. Which likely put Quibi’s demise right up there with frozen yogurt on the list of things Demi hates. It looked like Demi’s talk show was officially dunzo, but by miracle of miracles, it was rescued by Roku and will premiere there next month.

Because it’s a holiday weekend in the U.S., the iHeartRadio Music Awards was the second biggest event last night. The first being whatever you had for dinner and the third being you taking a shit midway through the awards. While it didn’t give you Pink and her 11-year-old daughter hanging from a ceiling, it did give you Doja Cat turning M. Night Shyamalan‘s Signs into a sexy club show and almost got abducted in a cornfield by some hot aliens–so basically she recreated one of Elon Musk‘s less-elaborate sexual fantasies on stage.

The iHeartRadio Music Awards is something that happened last night, and that was probably exciting for the three people who knew it was on and watched. It was probably also exciting for the celebrities who showed up because it gave them a chance to strip out of their pajamas and sweats and slather themselves in fashion foolery, including the above look from Bruno Mars which looks like a still from a movie called Puerto Rican Casanova Swingers Club.

Demi Lovato is busier than me whenever someone asks me if I’ve got plans tonight (“Actually, I’m really fucking busy tonight” is what I say before packing another bowl and continuing to binge-watch The Circle from my bed). Well, Demi’s added another project to their plate. Demi’s got a new podcast, 4D With Demi, and in the show’s first episode, Demi says that they’re non-binary. But before the non-binary community braces themselves over the thought that Demi is about to become the new face of them, Demi isn’t trying to be a spokesperson for the non-binary community.
