Cara Delevingne Says She Got Sober, And Those Airport Paparazzi Pics Were A Wake-Up Call

March 8, 2023 / Posted by:

Cara Delevingne went through a rough time last year. In May, she made headlines for being Megan Thee Stallion’s “hype woman” at the Billboard Music Awards. In September, she was papped sans shoes, “behaving erratically” at Van Nuys Airport in LA. A week later, her buddy/Suicide Squad co-star, Margot Robbie, was photographed crying a few hours after visiting Cara’s house, presumably out of concern for her friend (although she later denied it). Then, a couple of weeks after that, Margot and Cara got into a physical altercation with paps in Argentina. Since then, we haven’t heard much from 30-year-old Cara. And now we know why. According to Page Six, Cara spent “some of December and most of January” at Utah’s Cirque Lodge rehab. And Cara opened up about getting sober for the April issue of Vogue. Damn, that’s a great way to hold yourself accountable. A post-rehab Vogue cover story! Too bad everyone in recovery doesn’t get one…

John Mayer Says He Doesn’t “Really Date” Since Getting Sober

December 21, 2022 / Posted by:

John Mayer claims that he hasn’t really dated since getting sober six years ago. He revealed this very important information on Call Me Daddy, a podcast hosted by Alex Cooper. 45-year-old John tells Alex that, without alcohol as a crutch, he lacks the “liquid courage” to go on dates. So that seemingly romantic four-hour dinner he shared with Kiernan Shipka last month? The one at the Italian restaurant, where John was spotted serenading 23-year-old Kiernan? That shit was probably platonic. Well, hopefully. John’s exact wording was “I don’t really date.” And that’s a helluva lot weaker than: “I never ever date, especially not female celebrities of the Gen-Z variety.”

Demi Lovato Is No Longer “California Sober,” They’re “Sober Sober”

December 2, 2021 / Posted by:

Demi Lovato has gotten a lot of shit for saying they’re “California sober.Demi’s personal interpretation of California sober was staying away from hard drugs like coke and heroin, but continuing to drink and smoke weed in moderation. It’s a controversial take, and many people (including Vanderpump Rules’ Lala Kent) don’t consider it sobriety at all. But now Demi has taken to their Instagram Stories to announce, “I no longer support my “California sober” ways. Sober sober is the only way to be.” Well, good for Demi. Hopefully, this announcement goes over better than previous very serious declarations like, the word ‘aliens’ is derogatory towards UFOs and “I’m triggered by sugar-free cookies.” Continue reading

Jessica Simpson Celebrated 4 Years Of Sobriety With A Throwback Hangover Pic

November 2, 2021 / Posted by:

Yesterday Jessica Simpson posted a throwback Instagram pic to honor four years of sobriety. In the caption of the pic, which is after the cut, she explained that the person in the photo is an “unrecognizable version” of herself who used booze to numb their issues. 41-year-old Jessica writes that she knew she had to take back her life and “brave this world with piercing clarity” by quitting drinking. And she actually did! I don’t know about you, but I’ve had more than one puffy-faced Scarlett O’Hara-esque “As God is my witness, I’ll never drink gin again!” moment, but I’ve never actually followed through. So good on Jessica!

Lala Kent Called Out Demi Lovato For Identifying As “California Sober”

July 20, 2021 / Posted by:

Three years ago, Demi Lovato suffered a heroin overdose, which left Demi with the kind of lasting trauma that forced them to re-commit to a sober lifestyle. And Demi shared that they’d classify themselves as “California sober.” It may sound like a cute term, but not to Lala Kent, who has aggressively side-eyed Demi’s choice to be what Lala believes is sober-ish.

Miley Cyrus Says She Had A Lapse In Sobriety During The Pandemic

November 24, 2020 / Posted by:

It was earlier this summer that Miley Cyrus revealed to us all that she was sober sober, as in no booze, no drugs, and no weed. Miley, formerly the type of person to get so high enough to make eye contact with extraterrestrial life, was done getting high, after preparing for vocal cord surgery and then later, due to her examining addiction and dependency in her own family. Well, being sober is one thing, but being sober during a pandemic is a whole other mess. This is why we now have Miley Cyrus admitting that COVID-19 created the kind of environment that had her slipping up on her sobriety.
