Cate Blanchett Calls For The End Of Televised Awards Shows While Accepting A Critics Choice Award On The CW…
The Critics Choice Awards aired on The CW last night, and a not-so-surprising guest crashed that shit like, “Bitch, I’m STILL here.” I’m talking about COVID-19. Nominees Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, and Jamie Lee Curtis, as well as presenter Michelle Pfeiffer, had to sit the show out after testing positive for Coronavirus. COVID-19 didn’t fuck with Cate Blanchett, though. She showed up to last night’s ceremony, won Best Actress for her performance in Tár, and used some of her time on stage to praise all actresses in the business and also declared that we need to finally call the time of death on the “televised horse race” known as awards shows. And then Cate galloped away with her Critics Choice Award in hand to place it right next to her two Oscars, three BAFTAs, four Golden Globes, three SAG Awards, and many other horse race prizes.

According to The Daily Mail, a real-life romance between two characters from the first two seasons of The Crown might be happening. The ultimate hook-up, in my opinion, would have been Prince Philip and organized hottie Martin Charteris. But people are saying that season 1 and 2 Queen Elizabeth, Claire Foy, and her Prince Philip Matt Smith might possibly have something non-platonic going on at the moment. And in true The Crown fashion, there might be a little bit of old-fashioned scandal to their coupling.

If you’re the type of person who doesn’t watch TV shows on Amazon, then The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel might sound like a film about a magical British nanny starring Dame Judi Dench. But as of today, it’s the reason why the show’s creator Amy Sherman-Palladino hauled a giant sack of trophies out of the Emmys last night.
Claire Foy Still Hasn’t Gotten Paid
Claire Foy’s portrayal of THE QUEEN in seasons one and two of Netflix’s The Crown earned her rave reviews and a bunch of awards. So it was a shock to find out that she was paid less than her co-star Matt Smith. Matt played THE QUEEN’S husband, Prince Phillip, who has historically always been second banana to his wife, as portrayed in the show. So why was he getting more in his direct deposit than the show’s lead? Could it be because he was…wait for it… a MAN?
The First Trailer For “The Girl In The Spider’s Web” Is Out
I’m afraid to say the new Spider-Girl movie looks a little dark. I know Marvel’s been touching on some heavier themes lately, but this is one superhero movie that looks like it’s no fun at all! At least Infinity War had some comic relief to break up the *spoiler alert* Greenday “Time Of Our Lives” crumble into dust montage ending *end spoiler*. In Marvel’s latest, The Girl In The Spider’s Web: Spider-Girl’s Revenge, Claire Foy takes over the role of Spider-Girl Lisbeth Salander, who was played by Rooney Mara in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo: Spider-Girl Gone Wild.

I kid, of course. Marvel would never allow that haircut to taint its celluloid legacy. At least Claire opted to get an actual haircut for this role instead of going with a discount wig from Party City like Jennifer Garner in Peppermint. I never knew there was an agreed upon revenge porn hair style before!
I’ve never actually read any of the Stieg Larsson Millennium Series novels nor have I seen any of the movies because they are confusing. The Girl In The Spider’s Web is based on the 4th book in that series, but is actually the 5th movie to be made. First there was a Swedish production of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo starring actual Swede Noomi Rapace, plus two follow ups The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest, also with Noomi. Then because Americans are too dumb to read good, they made an English language version of TGWTDT starring American actress Rooney Mara whose name is very similar to Noomi but is a totally different person. And Rooney has a sister, Kate Mara who is also an actress and I always get confused and think Noomi is Kate’s sister instead of Rooney. There are just too many damn girls doing too many destructive acts to keep up!

Claire Foy Will Get Back Pay To Close “The Crown” Wage Gap
Hello, hello! I’m baaaaack and missed you all very much. Before I scampered off to guzzle all the booze on vacation, everyone was outraged Dr. Who was making more than THE QUEEN…at least the fictionalized version…in The Crown. Now, it appears producers of the Netflix show are ready to do Claire Foy a solid and give her back pay to bring her salary equal to that of co-star Matt Smith.
