You know I get it about the dark roots, but if you are going to the trouble to dye them dark, why not do a touch up in whatever shade of blonde you have?
I have mostly gray/white hair under my dark blonde with light blonde highlights dye-job, but when my hair is at its blondest, (in the summer), the roots are much harder to detect, because they're the same value as the light blonde.

Moomarse, I always said that until someone pointed out the purpose of the black roots. It's to show that you have dark hair under all that blonde and that it's not gray yet. I can't imagine what kind of process they do to get that effect, but it is clever.

Lol, that reminds me of this game I used to play with my mom when we watched award shows together. We had to spot (and make fun of) people tripping on their long gowns. It's hilarious. Not so much at the Oscars because most movie actresses know how to move around in long dresses but television actresses tend to be ridiculous. It's awesome to see a bitch from, say CSI, almost faceplanting on the steps of the theatre.
