As someone with shocking black hair, pale skin, black clothes, gothic jewelery, etc., for me it's not so much about being "different" as much as it's just my personal style but there is nothing that pisses me up a wall more than these yuppie kids who congest the mall on any given day with their facial piercings, exclusively Hot Topic wardrobe, (poorly) Manic Panic dyed hair, and attitude that society owes them something when THEY'RE ones who sit there and judge everyone else.

A guy I talk to is like that. He's a superficial mallgoth/raver man-boy who doesn't think for himself and parrots every mantra of the "misunderstood" and overmedicated. He thinks he's so abnormal and doesn't go outside during the day, that's how wrapped around his image he is and heaven forbid make a joke about his natural habitat, Vampirefreaks, also full of vapid club kids who spend way too much focus on physical appearance, acting like they invented BDSM, and being "anti-official" via looking and acting exactly like each other. He also thinks that CaCa is the messiah because despite her sounding like a standard pop star, he enjoys her under the pretense that she's "ZOMG SO WEIRD!1!!!!!!1!".

I hate Vadge, but I think this is hilarious. I just looked up "Born This Way" and lasted into the chorus. It sounds like TLC's "Waterfalls" blended with "Express Yourself" with "Queer Eye Theme" sauce poured all over it. Sad.

Damn...Vadge could dance. She was definitely a great performer, especially considering that this performance is based on presence and dancing alone-no fireworks, videos, blood or any other desperate crap. Madonna's performances weren't trash compactor theater, as in a bunch of "edgy" crap just thrown together. She had seamless yet simply done performances that focused on HER and not the idea so much. That is her gift-SHE herself, whether you like her or not, is INTERESTING. I mean, look at the way she dresses now, and yet we still respect her. Caca couldn't dream of wearing a simple black dress. That would be the end of her career because everyone would fall asleep at the sight.

I think it is funny that people rag on Lady CaCa for ripping off Vadge, because Vadge ripped off everybody! I remember when Vadge came out and everyone knew she was ripping off Prince and quite a few others. What goes around comes around I say.

On a side note, Vadge should not show these videos because they show just how far she has fallen from her heights.

I forgot to add that this song was for Sean Penn. Vadge made many cracks at him via her music and this was one of them, so was "Take A Bow."

I never liked "express yourself" it seemed just as contrived then as it does now. Gaga's song is just as contrived, so why should Madonna care that someone is emulating what she started? They both should pay homage to their producers for making them famous. Madonna shows her conceit by releasing Express Yourself again. You don't see Paul McCartney re-releasing songs cause they are imitations of the Beatles. He has enough class to let his songs speak for themselves.
Madonna is an icon, if she gets into a squabble it only makes her look like an embittered old woman.

So Justin's Bieber's Grammy performance basically made me want to leave my life (fucking up Usher's shit!), Katy Perry's performance was stupid as usual, didn't see Christina A's or Lady Gaga's, but I really enjoyed all of the others, even when Rhianna was out of breath after bending her knees.

Lady Gaga is so beyond ridiculous ...I can't stand her BS 'art' or costumes or statements that she tries to justify. Bitch you are wearing a meat dress because you THINK you are shocking and you want people to talk about you. There is no spiritual or social meaning behind it, you want your picture taken. Nothing about her shtick screams art, original, inspirational, or thought out. A lot of popular music isn't necessarily what could be deemed 'original'; everyone has been ripped off in one way or the other. I guess Madonna doesn't bother me because she's always said that she got into music because she had something to say, not because she had a great voice. She's a decent dancer, but not spectacular. She does a few things just slightly above average, but her real brilliance is marketing. She's a shark and played everyone, all the time never denying that's exactly what she was doing! She gets points for that from me.

If you were stupid enough to buy into her bullshit, then you deserve everything you get. But if you just kicked back and laughed right along with her, you had a much better time.

Caga makes me fucking puke. She's got some catchy tunes, but her ridiculous assertion that she's some kind of artiste is just fucking laughable. Also, the Glee version of 'Bad Romance' was so much fucking better, even if it was lambasted as 'karaoke'. Even the chick who just talks and doesn't sing (Quinn?) sings better than Caca.

I heard this song this week and told my 11 year old daughter that this sounds like Madonna. I hadn't put together the exact song, but I knew something was familiar. That song Alejondro also is a copycat of Madonnas spanish theme song, I can't remember the name, she danced around like a bull fighter in a dress remember?

I was just now having a conversation with my stepson about this, explaining what a ripoff Gaga is (he's too young to remember Madonna as relevant), and we agreed that somebody--Letterman?--should invite Gaga onto the show and have a "surprise guest" (Madonna) appear and plop down right next to her. I never liked Madonna, and she's derivative in her own way, but COME FUCKING ON. There is nothing about "Born This Way" that isn't a complete and utter blatant ripoff. I'm sure, especially given her history with Dave, that Madge would have something amusing to say.
