Zsa Zsa Gabor Loses Most Of Her Leg
Just start pouring bottles of Andre directly into my mouth hole, because it's a sad day. After two weeks of doctors trying to do everything they can to save Zsa Zsa Gabor's ultra graceful leg, they sadly had to amputate most it starting from just above the knee. Zsa Zsa checked into UCLA Medical Center around New Year's Day after her personal doctor found the bitchiest blood clot of all blood clots in leg. Doctors put her on a shit load of antibiotics, but it was too late.
The good news is that Zsa Zsa did fine during the surgery and her doctors are optimistic that she'll heal without any major problems. Since Zsa Zsa is 93-years-old, she will stay in the hospital for a little while longer so doctors can monitor her recovery closely.
I'm sure that Zsa Zsa's place on the chandelier of life will twinkle brightly long after ours goes dim. Zsa Zsa will live forever! I'm also sure that Zsa Zsa will look better than ever in her solid gold prosthetic leg with built-in marabou slipper. Dahlink!

It sounds like she had a bad case of cellulitis, which is a skin infection that can lead to flesh eating disease if not promptly treated. Seriously, isn't anyone taking care of her? Massages, changing her position in bed, warm compresses? They should have started her on intravenous antibiotics the minute she got the infection, which seems to have been late 2010. This kind of stuff makes me so mad. Can't stand the creep she's married to.

WHY was her leg in such bad shape anyway? I suspect Prince von Asshole was not taking good care of her and not spending top dollar to make sure she had good care. Even if she is bedridden, she should have physical therapy and massages to keep circulation going, etc. She shouldn't have any sores going septic or bedsores or anything.
That is elder neglect and he should be arrested, dammit. Nothing scares me more than being a helpless oldie.
At this point death would be a blessing :o(
I agree with what another poster already said. If it was me, I would never have agreed to this surgery, but rather asked for the doc's to make me as comfortable as they possible can at home(aka give me lots of drugs) and just let go.
There is no longer dignity left in this situation and if there is no dignity there is no quality of life. She is 93 y/o, she led a long and more privileged life than 99.9% of the rest of the people in the world will ever have a chance to lead. It's time to say goodbye :o(

I'm still doing the consulting gig. I decided to become college prof to see how I would like it. The pay stinks, but I'm enjoying it. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue doing it this year.

Ha, I love people with incredible mental strength. Without her fierceness, Zsa Zsa would have never survived all the illnesses she's had. Now there's a little less of her, but she is still alive, at 93.
Let's hope she'll be better soon.

You've said a true thing there. On the one hand I consider aging a privilege (I know too many people who would have loved to grow old), but on the other hand I see so many old people struggling with life's challenges on a daily basis. When simple thing like getting dressed or breathing properly become a task, what are you gonna do? In Zsa Zsa's case I would have preferred to go out with some nice Dutch gin and the right amount of pills.
