Twins For Mimi!
Ever since Mimi referred to her unborn BABY!!! as "they", everyone's been speculating that there's two mini-Mimikens nibbling on strawberry-flavored placenta in her HELLO WOMBEY, and now her husband Nick Cannon has confirmed this. May the lambs' joyous BAAAAAAHs echo through the fairy forest and slide down the rainbow into the ears of every unicorn!
People says that on his radio show this morning, Nick let it be known that his wife is now eating for three. Nick and Mimi were trying to keep the news locked inside their lips for as long as they could, but he says he just had to blurt it out when the Obamas asked about her uterus situation after the Christmas in Washington Concert on Sunday night.
Nick explained, "They, ironically enough, questioned my wife about, you know, 'So, what are you having, are you having twins? And at this point she hadn't told anybody anything because doctors advised us to keep it to ourselves until we get further along. And because of the excitement, because of the emotion, she was overwhelmed [and] she shared with the President and First Lady that we are having twins."
Have they done a full body ultrasound, because Mimi sort of looks like she might be carrying another fetus in her neck. No, but seriously, this is not only good news for the makers of Hello Kitty diapers and nipple chaffing glitter cream, but it's also amazing news for us. Double the baby means double the baby NAMES! But I'm going to wait before getting two onesies bedazzled with the names Lamberiah Ensemble Cannon and LisaFrank Tajazzle Cannon, because they'll probably fuck with us by going with John and Barbara.

Like others have said, be it Clomid, Injectibles, or IVF, its all very taxing physically, emotionally, financially. IVF is over $10K cycle. I knew a (well-off) woman who did 10 rounds, unsuccessfully.

I don't understand why these famous women go through so much trouble to conceive science babies just so they can shove them into the care of nannies. I understand women can work and be moms and motherhood doesn't gave to be your full time job (unless you choose) but I've seen how the upper 1% lives. Children typically have to be "scheduled in."

Maybe it is because I would rather gnaw off my own arm than have kids, but I don't get it. IVF is so expensive!!! I mean, I get why stars do it...they have the cash. I don't get why they lie about it (and don't give me the PRIVACY bullshit when the baby is paraded around on the fucking People cover) and I don't get who is raising these babies when Mommy and Daddy are 100 years old with high schoolers.
I have a cousin doing IVF right now and the whole family is "rooting for her" through gritted teeth because IF it works, she and her loser husband are so maxed out on EVERYTHING that we have no idea HOW they are going to raise this kid. They have NO MONEY from their 2 attempts at IVF!!!!!
Note: He is 29, she is 45. And he says "we have a kid or I am leaving". Enter her maxed out Discover card and borrowing on her 401k. Sad. So sad.
THat being said, Mimi can afford it, her husband is 19, so he will be around when she is too old for the baby's needs so maybe it will work. I won't even get into what I think of 50 year old Celine Dion and her 185 year old husband doing it. But at least she is not lying about it.

I'm a big ole softie for Mariah! I grew up with her music and have never once heard anything about her being mean or cunty to noncelebrities. She's always seemed really sweet and has talent and throws shade left and right at these other singers whose only talent is blowing producers for trax. I'm happy for her and think she's genuinely in love and getting what she has always wanted. Something tells me she's going to be way more hands on than some of those other later in life moms mentioned.

They are not the only ones to deny. Jolie denied IVF for her twins too. And just b/c she had one child already does not mean she didnt experience secondary infertility and therefore had to use clomid of IVF.
You'd have to be pretty naive to believe that all of these celebrities popping out twins is some fuckin' coincidence. Yes, age is a factor in twins - but Jolie was in her early 30's. Also - all these chics seem to pop out a boy and a girl. Hmmm, pretty convenient.

Well since more women are waiting until they are older to have twins - this is true both in the general population and in the celebrity population -- it makes sense that you will see more twins. I have had two co-workers who used IVF and they both only had one child. Not all multiples are from IVF and not all singltons are 'natural' conceived. Notice everyone on that list is over aged 30.

When a woman gets older, their FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) levels increase. Since this hormone is responsible for getting the eggs ready for ovulation, this increase leads to a greater chance of having twins.

Except that it isn't your duty to give other people hope. And if this level of judgement is what women who have IVF have to face when they admit to having gone through it ('ugh, no one conceives naturally anymore', 'what's the point?', 'couldn't you just adopt?') I don't blame them for keeping tight lipped about it. Not to mention that it's your life and it's nobody's business what you do with your womb. Acting like you're superior because you conceived naturally, whether you had IVF help or not, is always dumb, though.

I have no problem with a couple going the IVF route, but I do think it is horrid when celebrities lie about using IVF. It gives IVF some sort of shameful secrecy that is really unfair.
Also, it would be nice for these celebs to be honest about the hardship and dangers of IVF. It is no walk in the park! It is expensive, time consuming, and can ravage your health if you are a woman with all the hormones being shot into you.
Also there are a lot of complications from multiple births due to premature birth. There is a higher chance of MS, learninging disabiliites, and the list goes on.
A little honesty would not hurt a celeb.
I think for anyone trying to conceive and can't it is heartbreaking. So to pretend that you did it without medical assistance, denying that you had help, it gives an unrealistic scenario and sense of hope to many other women who are trying and who can't conceive naturally. It's like, yep I'm just lucky I guess. I don't like it for that reason.

I am curious about Nancy Grace though. She was accused of IVF, but I don't think so due to the timing of her marriage. She got married after she got pregnant in an ultra fast wedding. I think her pregnancy was natural and not planned at all by the way her marriage was done and if she had IVF, it would have take a bit longer at her age. She was 47 too.

You can get pregnant naturally at an older age. I did and I am 40. It was pretty easy too, to my surprise.

I personally don't believe they are all so "special" that they had twins naturally. A few on the list have acknowledged they had IVF, but others say it was natural. Growing up I can remember maybe one set of twins that we knew of at school. It was not common at all to have a bunch of twins running around.
Again, I think IVF is totally fine, I guess I have a problem when folks claim it was natural, when it is unlikely that it was.
I was just reading about infertility (for my own purposes sshhh) and drug use can (well duh) make a man infertile, maybe its a case of the boths, he used drugs, shes broke down inside?

I put on like 80lbs with my pregnancy....most of it right at the end when my blood pressure went up and I began retaining a ton of water. Once my boys were born, I peed about 65lbs of it out in the first week after having them. LOL....I know, TMI. Anyway...Mariah looks swollen like I was.

I think she looks really big...considering she's only a few months along. I was only a little bigger than she is in this above photo when I had my twins at 8 months. During my pregnancy...it didn't really show much till around 6 months and then I practically popped out to looking like I was 9 months gone with one baby. lol...good times...good times. :)
