Arresting Willie Nelson for being possession of the good shit is like arrested Jessica Simpson for farting. But that's exactly what officers in Texas did to him yesterday morning at a Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca. When Willie's tour bus rolled up, BP agents smelled the delicious scent of marijuana floating out of the windows. That was just Willie burping again. Seriously, if Willie's tour rolled up and the officers didn't get a contact high from a good shit cloud wafting out of the windows, then they should arrest his ass! I'm clutching my bong with my mouth out of SHOCK about this.
E! News says that officials found 6 ounces of weed on the bus and Willie admitted it was his. They took him down to jail, charged him with a misdemeanor, and he was later released on $2,500 bail. Obviously, this has happened before.
Can't the government just grant Willie Nelson a pardon from all future marijuana arrests? It's Willie Fucking Nelson! The history books will tell you that he came out of the womb smoking pot. He'll smoke a joint on his bus, or in a jail cell. Dude doesn't care as long as he's got a joint between his lips.

People always cry about celebrities getting off the hook with the law but when an officer treats a celebrity like the average Joe, the cop gets shit for it for doing his job, which is to uphold that law.

Weed and other mind-altering chemicals can promote free-thinking. As you learned in school, free will is bad. Conformity is good.
Any pharmaceutical that promotes production is great, which is why Ritalin is pushed on kids and now on adults who are bored with the dullness of American life (wake up, commute, sit in too-bright office for 8 hours, Wal-Mart, "Family Guy" marathon, sleep, rinse, repeat) and aren't paying attention not because they have ADHD, but because daily life is a monotonous, never-ending cycle of boredom for anybody who doesn't have an exciting career or a trust fund.
Ritalin increases production. So does Prozac. Let's face it, but weed doesn't come with these dazzling claims no matter how many stoner CEO's you personally know (and I don't).
Fact is, it hasn't killed anybody.

Willie is an amazing songwriter, but he's an idiot. And he's a scofflaw. Everyone on the planet knows Willie smokes; hell, it was alluded to in an episode of Monk.
I don't know what the laws are in Texas, but where I live, 8 ounces gets you a trafficking charge. I'm sure Willie, with his involvement with NORML, is better versed in pot laws than your average toker. So maybe this is all some sort of staged protest. Sorry, but weed does not make you live longer. Weed causes lung cancer as well. I am not anti weed at all, but it bugs me when people say it has healthy benefits. Sure it makes you happy, but it is not doing your lungs any favor.
