The cat doesn't know what size it is relative to the alligator--it just knows it doesn't like the alligator encroaching on its space, so it's delivering a firm "get the fuck off my property" message. The alligator, like so many typical thieves, sizes up the situation and decides it's more trouble than it's worth; the window of opportunity has closed now that the cat is throwing punches. Besides, eating the boy will be easier.

When my cat stood her ground with a fox, she wasn't bluffing, secretly hoping the fox would fall for it; she was ready to go as far as necessary, because it was a case of she gets the mouse she caught vs. the fox getting the mouse, and she was not about to give up that mouse.

The difference between this scenario and the one on the video is I wasn't TAPING IT and doing NOTHING; it's entirely possible, given what I saw, that the fox would have left even if I hadn't arrived upon the scene, and that my cat would have triumphed anyway, but I wasn't going to take that chance. To a lot of people, life is a series of cockfights, and they really don't give a shit who goes down.

Ok WTF? Although I admire this cat's ballsiness, it's still just a cat and doesn't realize this alligator can snatch him up way faster than his idiotic owners can catch him.

Btw, I'm glad your doggy's doing better! I get so worried when my cat (even though she's all me me me and gives little in return) isn't feeling well.

DO NOT FEED YOUR DOG IAMS, google that shit and see what they do to Beagles, they experiment on dogs, mostly beagles...DONT SUPPORT IAMS IN ANY WAY!!!

Wellness, Wureva, Orijen, Natural Balance, Merrick, Innova, Blue Buffalo, Solid Gold and Artemis are the best absolute best dog foods in the world of dog foods. Please stick with one of these brands, I promise/guarantee you, you will see a difference in the dogs behavior, coat, overall health, poopies, smell of the poopies (although Innova makes stinky farts) but its excellent food. Anything w/by products as one of the 1st 5 ingredients needs to be dumped. And no grains: Grains such as soy, corn, corn gluten and wheat gluten can be difficult to digest, which means less nutrition and more clean up. Please people pay attention to what you feed your dogs, it can make the difference between you having huge vet bills and your dog living a longer happier, healthier life.

I was at the Giants game in Rutherford yesterday. Let me fking tell you all kinds of fucking weirdness happened. Bboy and the peeps around me saw these weird, like, circular aura in the sky at around 2pm when entering the damn stadium. THEN, there are three power outages (first two were around halftime; the third was straight up total shutdown/total darkness for like 5 fucking minutes and NOBODY around us ever said they experienced that at a damn major sport arena, especially when a stadium is juiced up off of about 12 mega-generators to avoid total failure. ???). Then, there were like 4 major ass beat downs, one was in our 300 section of the giants side. 5 football sized dudes, one had his ear ripped off NO FUCKING LIE THE CHICK NEXT TO ME TOOK A DAMN PIC/VID OF IT CHECK YOUTUBE I GUESS, all the guys had their faces smashed in pouring blood, 7 state troopers had to come up to stop that shit. The cleared 7 rows of seating and blood cleanup peeps were called. This shit was right after the blackout in the early 3rd. When we were shuttling back, the peeps in front of us and behind us were like "we had a major beatdown crew too". Fucking unbelievable. Had to share w/ yall. Getting back to youtube and studies now, but just wanted to shout out and snark w/ yall for a few.

What would possess them to do that? That's so dangerous. The alligator must've been fed and thank god for that because if it hadn't been it would've killed it. When I was on vacation in Florida in 2005, we were going to spend a day at the springs but we heard that an alligator ate someone's dog over that way.

It won't be so funny when the gator says fuck this and barrel rolls it right in front of everyone. I mean really..do you really think a gator is SCARED of a fucking cat. For whatever reason it just didn't feel like eating it and when it DOES it most certainly will.

Maybe alligators aren't aggressive, but I'm sure as fuck not going to hang out near one anyway. I'm more afraid of what they're capable of. And they're capable of running pretty quickly and snapping their jaws down on something (like me) that is not strong enough to fight it off. Maybe they won't choose to do it today, but I'd rather not leave the option out there.

Even if the cat hopped in there itself I would be trying, somehow, to coax it out! That cat would be a mere snag and swallow for that gator!

He is a guard cat. All it takes is attitude and that one has it. He was protecting the children. I used to have a cat like that. They can't be trained to do that. They are either like that or they aren't.

That video shows what those people know . . . alligators ARE NOT aggressive!! They are, in fact, little chickens. They don't like to confront people or anything else that moves. They are docile little things until humans capture them and teach them to be mean so they can put on a show for the tourists. If 'gators were aggressive there would be a shit load of dead people in the bayous of Louisiana and the swamps of Florida. An alligator will not bother you if you don't bother it. Try to remember that the next time you drive through Alligator Alley on your way from Miami to Tampa.

Hekki- I'm not in the UK but we have public health care in Australia too and the way it works here is that you pay for your appointment and keep your receipt then go and get your refund from the medicare office.

I haven't been to a GP for years so I don't entirely remember if you get it all back on the spot with them but you only get a certain amount back when it comes to specialists (like gynecologists for example)

I was just watching "Law & Order:UK" on BBC America. The episode is about a gynecologist who rapes his patients. The characters keep referring to paying for his services. One character said she had lent her friend money so she could see the doctor. The D.A. people were looking into his billing records to see which patients stopped paying him.

Don't Brits have national health care? I thought they didn't have to pay to see a doctor. And even if they did pay (like we have co-pays) would it be that expensive?

Can one of these adult dumbasses PLEASE get the child AND the cats away from the freakin alligators?! WTF is WRONG with people who are so willing to stand that close to a fucking alligator and let their child and pets run that big of a risk of being attacked by one??

Jeez MK! I'm glad Elvie's going to be OK, but that's some serious fuckery about the tainted dog food. Our elderly cocker spaniel (RIP little buddy, you were the best puppeh ever) got into some funky food and it damn near killed him. It was a rough few days, but he was OK by day four. Judging from the registration of the boat and the gators, I bet that's Louisiana. I think those are feral cats that hang around the lake, so they can handle themselves and are used to gators. The humans have no such excuse and deserve to be culled.
