QOTD: No Cursing In The House Of Eminem
Eminem's songs are stuffed with more curse words than a 6th grader's Facebook page, but he'll make you bite the Irish Spring and put a dollar in the jar if you so much as launch a "shit" off your tongue in his house. Em, who is raising three girls, tells The Silver Fox in a 60 Minutes interview:
"I'm a parent. I have daughters. I mean, how would I really sound, as a person...walking around my house [saying] 'Bitch, pick this up,' you know what I mean?...I don't cuss. Profanity around my house? No."
Well, that's that. If you ever receive an Evite for a tea party at Eminem's house, you now know to politely return the RSVP card with the "Will Not Attend" box checked off. The only reason to go to his house is for him to tell you to "pick this up, BITCH."

Could never hate on EM, ever, love him with every ounce of my being since day 1.
And his stage presence is a character so he can curse, talk about drugs, say whatever the fuck he wants. And he can also RUN his house the way he wants, of course his girls are old enough to now hear his songs and know that "that isn't their true dad", he's the man who always loved his kids, some not even biologically his and he has always been the best dad he could be. All parents make mistakes.
He got into drugs, but supposedly now he has been sober for a while.
The only thing that bothers me is the songs he talks about their mom being a drug addict, (unfortunately there are a few and that she's a whore, etc.) they've had a tumultuous relationship from the beginning, I think they have grown up and will be a beautiful family once all the other shit is out of the way. I think he was just so involved in the drug scene himself back them, Im sure he regrets ever putting that shit out. The kids are old enough now, when he wrote that shit, they were still small enough not to understand.
I will stick up for this man no matter what. He is a lyrical genius and spits like no other, I love you EM and can not wait for the new CD!

Is this a new rule from a guy that has made a living out of disrespecting people? I figure the court ordered him to attend parenting classes and he was told to start behaving like a parent or he would lose his kids. Hopefully he can get it together and start setting a good example for them. Considering his life thus far, I have my doubts.

Vienna is Paradise for anyone who loves classical music. I went to Germany,then Austria do field studies in IR. Going to the symphony,the opera,
and some chamber music concerts was bliss. I love Mozart in all forms; though my favorite Requiem is Faure's.I want that at my funeral!
Actually,all of my favorite composers are French or German.
The second thing we learned in choir was the Missa Luba.

This is so off topic at this point but it is the next day so here goes ... I love Faure's Requiem Mass to distraction and actually got to sing it for All Souls last year with my High Mass Choir. Liturgical music (French, German, and English) is one of my guilty pleasures even though I am not religious (more of an anthropologist when it comes to church) and I will genuflect my ass off to sing it.
As for Eminem, his ethical manners are the same as Madonna's who also preserves a better world for her own children while screwing up everybody elses.
100% of these rappers and hip hop stars are FAKES AND FRAUDS! They are all nerds...all of them...

I believe there is also a niece that he has guardianship over, although it may be a nephew and then a cousin's kid. The generalizations made on this entry are unbelievable. However, on topic, Eminem reminds me of the typical 'Alles Schlampen, außer Mutti' mentality. Women are whores except his precious immaculate daughter (and whoever the other two poor souls are he is allowed to poison with his twisted world views). Thing is every woman is the daughter of someone. And I'm certain that there will be a time when his daughter will find out what daddy said in interviews or in his songs about women and homosexuals and will ask daddy dearest why he appeared all holier than thou in his own four walls while he spouted profanities like someone with tourette syndrome in songs and interviews he's given all over the world where parents didn't have the possibility to save their own children fast enough from witnessing this hypocritical asshole behaving like the fucking braindead piece of trash he is.

That is one of the main reasons I moved to Europe. They are much more appreciative and supportive (in general) to artists and not so hung up on commercialism as in The States.
And whenever I go up north to the Scandinavian countries, I seriously have to beat the tricks off with a stick. I always have my running shoes with me there. They must be hard up there because of the cold ass winters!

LMAO, I can and it ain't pretty. Yes, I think they do. They seem to like the way we just come out and say things and are more open to starting up a conversation. Danes are more reserved but once they know you, they are more open. This is all very general, of course. On the other hand, I have had trouble getting danes to go out/finding a boyfriend. My mom thinks I come on too strong (I may be too honest, I don't know) but danish women are very aggressive (maybe that's why the men here are scared and run away). Ha, now I'm complaining.
Breakdown, lol, nice to know someone else sees that about the dudes here. They're really easy to talk with, I have to say, just hard to hook up for a second date. Now german men in Denmark know how to flirt. One guy I helped on the train said I looked 25 and I told him I liked him even more after that and we all had a good laugh. A danish man would probably not do that. Germans seem to have a sense of humor that crosses the language barrier more easily.
There is one light here: danes love jazz and musicians have been able to come here and be appreciated/recognized as they should be for years now. Agree with you about Elvis, too. :)

Aww... I love MM(admittedly less than I did in my teens). This doesnt surprise me at all. The man is an excellent father, not even taking into ccount his PTSD trailer trash upbringing. He is taking care of two children that aren't his own, not even his blood. That takes real balls, and for all his douchetastic ghetto posturing, MM has balls in spades. RESPECT.
All parents are fucking hypocrites. I was raised in a conservative household and to this day, my mom FREAKS THE FUCK OUT if fuck bombs fly whenever my brother and I argue. It makes me giggle, looking back, my dad used to grumble whenever we listened to MM or particularly vulgar rap(I'm a feminist, and I know it's demeaning to women but fiddy's music is just so damn catchy). But it brings me to my main point. If YOU don't like your kids listening to his music, it's up to YOU to do something about it. Don't absolve your responsibilities as a parent using the pathetic uneducated, inbred, sexualized "singers/actors are role models." bullshit excuse.
I took French on and off for 5 years and now it's like I can barely say voulez vous couchez avec moi... Learning a language as an adult is hard. But now I've vowed to brush up on my Francais (cringes) because I want to work in the foreign service and it gives me an in. I also like to say that french guys (or atleast instructors) are such pervs. I've had three and everyone of them have expressed interest or hit on me, and I'm far from a 10. I do naturally have a flair for languages though. Maybe that's why...

Imagine how twisted my face gets when I teach in Europe and my students will know who Elvis Presley is, but they don't know Aretha Franklin. Or they will know who The Beatles are, but they won't know who Chuck Berry is.
And I think Eminem is a great artist, but he even has said that he wouldn't be as big as he is if he were black and doing what he does. He is the Elvis of rap, more or less. And for me, Elvis Presley is NOT the king of rock and roll.

How hideous! This ties into an earlier point of mine: American music-most of which has been influenced by Black Americans- is one of our biggest exports. Music itself unifies,the baggage around it tends to divide.
It's a pity that the worst element has a grip on the music business.

Spanish was far easier for me to learn because growing up, my best friend was Spanish and so I was always hearing it, even before I spoke it. And if someone had told me German would be my 2nd language in my life, I would have shanked them! I never sang in German growing up, not even opera (Mozart's Kyrie Eleison is a fave) as we always translated it into English for American audiences. I sang mostly in Italian, French, and Spanish.
One day I would like to speak six languages fluently. I am more than halfway there!
And I remember the first time I went to Vienna, I went to a bookstore and sat in that fucker all day going over their selections of operatic pieces. It was amazing the volumes upon volumes they had there.

For me, French, German and Italian were far easier to learn than Spanish. The grammar was impossible. I earned a double BA in International Relations/French Lang. & Lit,with a German minor. I wish I knew Mandarin.
I started studying classical piano at five,joined a choir at 8 and learned to sing in Latin and English. The first thing we learned to sing in choir was Mozart's Exultate,Jubilate. What's your favorite opera? Going to the opera in Vienna,Salzburg and Berlin was one of the best experiences of my life.

A.cotw, I grew up in boring old Nebraska but in a city with a 'hood that has a higher murder rate per annum than the entire country of Denmark. That's sad, isn't it? :( There's just some things about America you can't explain to non-americans but that's the same everywhere. The main difference though is most other countries aren't exporting it to the rest of the world.
So I can well imagine those norwegians youths, ha ha. Have had similar instances with my own kids and they with me, no doubt.
Breakdown, in Denmark I get told I speak american, not english (but everyone thinks I'm from England...go figure!) I know the differences between the two but this anything for a joke crap gets old after 15 years.
Did not know that about french rap but it makes sense. Danish rap may be somewhere between german and french rap. Had to laugh when I saw a t-shirt in a clothing store window here that read "Straight outta Compton" They have NO idea.
As for what women like in men, I'd be soooo happy to meet a danish man who wasn't a metrosexual, perfume-reeking cremepuff (or a gangster wanna be, to keep on topic) and who wouldn't run away after the first kiss. I like a man who isn't scared, lol. :)
