Open Post: Hosted By DJ Paul Rudd

It's obviously the week where we embarrass the shit out of celebrities by pulling out shiny magical gems from their past, so here's a video from 1992 of Paul Rudd DJing a Bat Mitzvah. This looks like a lost scene from 200 Cigarettes, but apparently it's real life. Paul Rudd really did have hair like a parted pubic bush. Gabrielle Birkner of The Forward posted this clip from her own Bat Mitzvah and had this to say about it.

Rudd, donning a yellow tuxedo jacket, a ruffled shirt, shorts and Doc Martens, ably and energetically led us through all of the bat mitzvah staples: Candle-lighting, Coke & Pepsi, Toasts, limbo, “Hands Up,” Challah-cutting and “YMCA.” And as the “Today” show-themed bat mitzvah party came to a close, he invited my friends onto the dance floor to sing a moving rendition of “That’s What Friends Are For.”

Obviously, this clip needs more titty slapping. You know what else it needs more of? The memaw in pink swaying her everything at the 0:57 mark! As much as I love seeing Paul Rudd dressed like a skater boy going to prom, the camera dude should've really focused on that memaw. She's the real star in this!

Try almond milk or hemp milk. Those are the two best non-dairy milks I've tried.

Agree with Mike. I'm severely lactose-intolerant, and I use Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Almond Milk. I use it plain, or in a cereal, or in smoothies, in short it's delicious and FABULOUS!
It's also 100% natural/free of any artificial crap.
I use the "unsweetened" variety, and an extra bonus it has only 40 calories per 8oz cup.

@ Mike, yeah milk only but also with supplements. Given I'm lactose intolerant too, it'd be goat's/soya/whatever. The nurse I was discussing it with suggested having a diet coke if it's a celebration but there's to be no alcohol whatsoever.

@ Pamela, I'm not sure really. I mean once I start, food doesn't come into it until I'm so far gone and eating fast food in the cab on my way home. I suppose it's a different kind of hunger maybe?

Seeing as there is a lot of health discussion, has anyone given up alcohol for six months or so? If I get on this weight management clinic at the hospital, that's what I'll have to do apparently and that's not counting the initial two months of a milk only diet :-(

A milk only diet? Realistically too, I think those "no alcohol" restrictions are assuming people aren't drinking straight hard liquor (just beer and sugary mixed drinks).

Submitted by Pamela on Tue, 08/03/2010 - 8:24pm.
@Care Polish too huh! Damn my hubbys side is Polish there dad straight from Poland all the Bros and Sis's can put them away like nobodys bidness. My hubs cant drink at all anymore he's to much of an alkie!

I'm totally married to a polish alkie bartender. He'll be really good for like 6 months but then go on a bender and end up in the hospital with pancreatitis. He NEVER drinks at home, it's only at work...imagine, a bartender being tempted at work. He has really good insurance, benefits etc so he hates his job but doesn't think he can quit given all of the crappy jobs with no benefits that I seem to attract.

I love Violet Crumbles but refuse to pay £1.35 or so.for one. Fuckers.

Haha Pamela, that's my family all over too. I will always choose a double vodka over a meal, which is daunting me I think. The diet is two months of 3-4 pints of milk a day for 8 weeks, then real food beong introduced. Given it'd be over Christmas/New Year and my birthday too, I'm not looking forward to it, however great the weight loss.
