Gisele Bundchen Thinks There Should Be A Worldwide Breastfeeding Law
If you're a mother who does not breastfeed her newborn baby, Gisele Buttchin thinks you should be imprisoned immediately and forced to hand over your kid to Salma Hayek. Or something along those lines.
Gisele, who has been a mother for all of 8-months, thinks there should be a law on the books that states all mothers should squirt chichi leche into their babies' mouths NO MATTER WHAT! Gisele tells Harper's Bazaar (via Press Associated):
"I think breastfeeding really helped me keep my figure. Some people here (in the US) think they don't have to breastfeed, and I think 'Are you going to give chemical food to your child when they are so little?' I think there should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months."
The highly important committee that is in charge of passing worldwide laws will get on that as soon as they pass a law stating that Gisele Bundchen needs to keep her pie hole shut in public. No, but seriously...
I don't know how easy breastfeeding is, but I'm sure if every mother could do it she would. I mean, why waste your money on formula when you can spend it on painkillers and other substances that will ease your nerves when baby is screeching in the middle of the night. Right?
And what about Barbie? If Barbie was a real-life human being she wouldn't physically be able to breastfeed, because bitch doesn't have any damn nipples*! Baby can polish its gums on her titties, but that's about it! Gis needs to think about Barbie before she speaks!
*Barbie doesn't have a vagina either, but that little fact doesn't work with my point!

I am very pro-breastfeeding (obviously) but what this whole 'Dumb Americans' thing, when it comes to breastfeeding?
what the hell has one to do with the other?
I am Irish, living in America and ALL my yanky girlfriends nursed - many did extended nursing (over 2 years).
But in Ireland, most of my girlfriends refused. Nothing to do with the baby not taking the breast (which is actually quite rare and is mostly due to poor nipple placement/poor latching techniques and lack of support for the new mother.) They refused because it's much easier and faster to bottlefeed and others can do it. I know many more European woman who nurse for 3-6 months or not at all.
It seems that no matter what we talk about here, there's always someone piping in about 'Dumb Americans'. It's like the go-to insult when people disagree with what some Americans here say.
The Americans just smile and sit back as you bring your kids here for their ultimate dream - Disney World, and then on to the best hospitals in the world when none of their own have the capabilities the Dumb American hospitals have.
After they are cured by Dumb Americans they can stay and be educated by Dumb Americans at the top universities on the planet, since 13 of the Top 20 are in America.
In other words : SHUT THE FUCK UP WITH YOUR 'DUMB AMERICAN' BULLSHIT.
Thanks and "have a nice day!"

Sorry but I don't take advice from horses.
I breast fed and am all for it but this chick always comes across as high and mighty.
Unless she's only eating organic fruits and vegetables and NOTHING else she is still passing chemicals to the baby just in lesser amounts than whats in formula. Not to mention if she's so concerned about what's put in her baby's body she may want to keep him out of the smog infested states.
Get off your high horse chick. I'm all for breast feeding but I really don't care to hear your opinion on the matter.
The problem is the handful of obnoxious women who just whip it out without ANY public etiquette.
Oh right, I guess having one child who isn't even a year old makes you an authority on parenting.
Does she even understand WHY some mothers don't breast feed? I'm not even a mother and I understand why my sister has chosen not to breast feed her second child. Her first child had trouble breast feeding and her breasts hurt all the time and really, it is every woman's decision how to raise her own damn child.

My goodness, what a bunch of idiots.
Of course she is not talking about people who CAN'T breastfeed, she is talking about the stupid ones who WON'T
-----------------------------------------------
Breastfeeding, whilst definitely more desirable and far better for the baby, is not compulsory, and a mother is not stupid if she chooses not to. Breastfeeding is a very intimate thing, and some people are just not comfortable with it. It is society that has sexualised breasts to the point that we have forgotten their true purpose that is stupid- not everyone can get over this indoctrination overnight. It is far better for the mother baby bond that the mama is happy and comfortable, rather than forcing herself do something that she hates several times a day (and night) for months on end. Each to their own- please don't judge others decisions for themselves and their families in such derogatory terms.
And yes, I am a mother, yes I did breastfeed for 8 months, I found it easy and I know that I'm lucky. What mothers decide to do for their babies and their breasts is nobody elses business and that goes for Giselle too.

Of course she is not talking about people who CAN'T breastfeed, she is talking about the stupid ones who WON'T, who will use formula because they think its cleaner or better or whatever, while all studies prove over and over again that breast milk strengthens a baby's immune system like nothing else can do.
There are a lot of dumb americans who are led by the industries and think breastfeeding is inapropriate for some reason, and that's what she is talking about. Fuck.

She's communicating badly. Just like you are now.
She should have not said: There should be a law...but instead:
I would love to encourage ALL women EVERYWHERE to breastfeed. In many countries, it's assumed that formula is somehow better for the baby but it's really not. Breastfeeding supports a healthy immune system, promotes bonding and it's so EASY compared to dealing with all those bottles! And on top of all that I got my body back really quickly! (WTF WITH THE CODES MAN!?)
See how easy that is? How easy it would have been for me to not take the time to rub it in your face like you're some kinda idiot and instead just share what I have learned through my experiences?

Irish Fury - yep. I remember bitches telling me that upon giving birth and leaving the hospital they lost like 30lbs or some shit.
I walked out of the hospital less the 7lbs of the baby. Not an ounce less. And stayed that fat until I weaned. Once I weaned, the weight just fell off, in about a month - 6 weeks time, but I'd also started dieting and exercising a hell of a lot more.
------------------------------------------------
Yup. This is all true. The only time I lost weight while BFing was when I wasnt eating (due to stress, anxiety, etc). THEN I lost weight. But gained it back and balanced out again once it all passed and I have stayed the same weight pretty much since I had the babies. Now that I am weaning, the weight is coming off (lost 5 pounds in one week).
And all these people here talking about how they SUFFERED and CROSSED THE SCORCHING DESERT to breastfeed, do you want someone to play the violin while you moan? Sore nipples, nights awake, so what, it's older than history, you want a fucking medal? Get over yourselves for once.

I agree. She is not pretty at all. I dont know why people keep saying that. The only thing about her is her body and that she is really tall. Thats it. Other than a somewhat abnormally lean and tall body, she really is not pretty or feminine looking at all. She is a dog and everything else about her is ordinary.

Has it ever occurred to this scrawny dumb twat that some women can't breastfeed for health reasons? Or b/c they don't produce enough milk (like my sister), or b/c the baby just doesn't like it? I get shit for not wanting to have kids, but it seems like even if you have them you get shit for whatever dumb reason. You're judged if you don't have kids, or if you only have one, or if you have 2 of the same sex (when are you gonna have a boy/girl?), for breastfeeding or not breastfeeding, etc. People just need to get out of other people's reproductive organs and mind their own damn business.

Although breastfeeding DOES burn an extra 500 or more calories a day, not every woman is able to get her "old" figure back through breastfeeding alone, much less added with exercise. A lot of us retain our "fuller" figures while breastfeeding as our bodies are insuring we produce fatty enough mild for our babies.
As recent studies show, the benefits of breastfeeding for the mother, on her figure are for the results AFTER she weans. Once we wean our babies from the boob, our bodies tell itself, "Hey, we don't need all this fat anymore" and it's within that first year POST breastfeeding that woman usually regain their post baby figure, or at least lose the chunk.
****************************************
EXACTLY!
The body slows down it's metabolism when the mother is nursing to ensure that there is enough fat to keep making milk if the mother cannot eat. This stems from the freaking stone age and our genes still work that way.
I had my kids in 04, 05, 06 and went from slim to curvy (a size 12) for three years because I nursed all 3 (with no nannies or babysitters, you Equine Idiot) and the fat reserves remained. A year after that, I was back to being slim again.
I hate this cow (childbirth didn't hurt a bit! ) and the likes of Kelly Ripa (I don;t diet, I'm just so busy caring for my kids that I just eat what falls off the high chair!) that try to make the rest of us feel like shit.
Science tells us that breastfeeding maintains the chunk! Losing it so quickly is due to dieting, exercising or pure luck (or a quirky gene).
I hate celeb "Moms". I hope the nannies are doing a good job of raising all the chirruns.

Ya, that's exactly what the world needs: the medical opinion of a pampered, skinny dumb bitch.
She has been able to maintain her figure not because of breastfeeding, but because of all that money she spent on diet and exercise after the birth and because she is just genetically endowed to look like barbie. Breastfeeding has nothing to do with it, but having tons of money has.

i'm not a mom yet so i don't know how easy or not easy breastfeeding is...but i would think that a mom would want to do what is best for the baby and herself, so whatever choice the mom makes is probably the best. jizz-elle needs to stfu.
She needs to shut up. Breast feeding is not easy for everyone. I desperately wanted to breast feed my first child, but my son and I had a VERY hard time - somehow we developed all sorts of bad habits that led to bleeding nipples (mine, of course), and he was crying all the time because he wasn't getting enough to eat. After a couple of weeks I had to supplement with formula (for his health and my sanity), but before I did it, I cried and felt like the worst mother in the world. A big part of that break down was over reaction because of the hormones, but new moms put a lot of pressure on themselves. Let's add a law to that - that wouldn't have driven me over the edge or anything...
i love it when first time mothers get on their soap boxes. they just look stupid. does she not realize some women are not able to breastfeed? does she think women should be arrested if they choose to use formula? what a fruit loop
I was one who always thought could never breastfeed because I found it "gross". I ended up breastfeeding over a year, thanks to nipple shields. My skin is very delicate and they ended up broken and bleeding every time, and those nipple shields saved me. The Leche nazis always say that nipple shields make your children colicky and that way doesn't help you produce milk. For me they turned out to be bullshit. I'm very lucky, I know, but my son has NEVER EVER been colicky. I had always plenty of milk (much more from the left) and I stopped brestfeeding VERY gradually (he just breastfed a bit before going to sleep when he was 14 months), so my son at 17 months was not even complaining.
But breastfeeding was exhausting, and this bitch up here seems to forget most of women don't have a team of trainers, chefs, massagers and so on. And the saying that breastfeeding helps you lose baby weight too, turned out untrue for me. Actually it was quite the opposite. It made me balloon up! As soon as I stopped breastfeeding I had lost all the weight in a month.
She should really, really stop talkin'. Her brain must be the size of a bean.

I felt bad about switching but in the end it was just what worked best for me. Maybe Gisele needs to realize that not every woman has the financial stability and time that she has, and can't always do it. I hate the group of woman that breast feed that make it their lifelong goal to look down on woman who don't. Why don't you just appreciate ALL good mothers despite what they feed their child. My anger here is to Giz and her wanting to make it a LAW, forcing women to breastfeed.
It should be a personal choice.

True dat. It bugs me when I see women who slag on other women because they do/don't BF, work/stay at home, etc. It all boils down to personal choice, like you said. Some women need to be more supportive and less judgemental.
And Gisele needs a big steaming cup of STFU.

I'll never understand why Tom Brady went from the beauitful, classy Bridget Moynahan to her. I bet Bridget is laughing her ass off over Gisele sticking her foot in her mouth again. Who can forget her saying that Bridget and Tom's son was her child?
Also, FWIW, I gave birth 100% naturally and spent most of my labor in the bathtub and it hurt. For her to say it didn't hurt at all is a load of crap unless she has a disorder where she cannot sense pain like a normal person. (Granted, everyone's pain threshold is different and in my case, it wasn't unbearable, but it still hurt.)
OH FUCK YOU, GISELE.
My son is 10 months old now and I breastfed him until just a couple of weeks ago, when he weaned himself. So, believe me, I really understand the benefits of breastfeeding. But is this dumbass man-stealer aware that not all women are able to breastfeed? That not all babies are able to breastfeed? That not everyone wants to breastfeed?
The list of reasons is long and private; every family can choose for itself what works best for them.
