Yesterday, it was reported that The Empress of Lucite is floating into Celebrity Rehab, and today my favorite Pointer Sister, Bonnie Pointer, lifted her hand up from the dumpster and yelled, "ME TOO!"
TMZ says that Bonnie, who has a history of snorting anything that comes in a vial or Ziploc bag, is joining the cast! The ratings are about to soar higher than Bonnie's state of mind the day after her royalty check comes in!
I mean, Shauna and Bonnie under the same roof? Heaven is really apologizing to us for taking Rue McClanahan too soon. its obvious from the posts most folks on here dont know the history of the fabulous Pointer Sisters , its OK , most people are bombarded with such bullshit they have trouble remembering what happened last week.
I always loved them in the 70s when they guested on The Carol Burnett show doing 30s and 40s standards and dressing all retro .. Cut to later they sang back up on tons of pop tunes and then Bonnie left and had 3 big dance disco pop hits on her own with covering Motown classics "Heaven Must Have Sent You ", "Free Me From My Freedom" & "Sugar Pie Honey Bunch"
The Pointer Sisters kept on and actually changed their sound from 40s to current and became an amazing hit machine for about 10 years. "Slow Hand" is one of my fave tunes. "Yes We Can Can" is one of the most sampled records in hip hop today.
Actually met Bonnie with Don Johnson in the 80s in Ft. Laud, she was really wild then , Rick James spoke of smoking crack with all the Pointer Sisters too ...
I hope that she can get clean & sober , Bonnie lost her baby sister June to crack addiction , she along with the rest of her sisters are all amazing talents , there are so many people in this business who would love to work with her and style her out of this crackdom ghettocus she has done fell in..
