Poochinski - Before Peter Boyle shared the screen with a talking dog puppet known as Patricia Heaton, he was the voice of one in Poochinski! This could've been masterpiece starred Peter as a detective who is killed in the line of duty and is reborn as a talking dog puppet to catch his murderer (SPOILER ALERT: This was his murderer). Poochinski's partner was the groom from Father of the Bride.
The early 90s was truly the golden era of television thanks to everyone coming down off of all the drugs they took in the 80s.
Poochinski aired on NBC one summer night in 1990 along with the TV version of Turner & Hooch. NBC called it "Two Dog Night." Both shows never aired again. So mark the summer of 1990 as the season your heart was born, and also the season it died.

I looked up who was NBC's chief of programming in 1990: the usually brilliant Brandon Tartikoff. He left NBC a year later. Must've been his way of cleaning the office supply closet of rollerball pens & post-its.

I don't remember this show but the dog is cute. I'm more fond of the really old dog shows and movies: Digby, Benji were some of my favorites.
