Brittany Murphy Has Passed Away
What. The. Fuck. 2009 just needs to turn the fuck around and walk away. TMZ is saying that Brittany Murphy died early this morning in Los Angeles. Brittany was just 32.
TMZ reports that Brittany went into full cardiac arrest at her home this morning. Brittany was rushed to Cedars Sinai by ambulance. She was pronounced dead on arrival. It's not known whether Brittany's husband Simon Monjack was with her at the time.
Brittany is probably best known for playing Ty in Clueless and for being the voice of Luanne Platter on King of the Hill, but she was also in Freeway (my personal favorite), 8 Mile, Girl Interrupted, Riding in the Car with Boys, Uptown Girls, and Sin City.
This hasn't been confirmed by Brittany's rep, so I'm keeping the question mark in the title until or if it does get confirmed.
Damn. Way harsh and sad.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, Brittany's rep confirmed that she died at 10:04 this morning at Cedars. Her rep issued this statement to People:
"In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy."
The LAPD has opened up an investigation into her death. An autopsy will be performed tomorrow.

The people here giving MK shit about showing some compassion for BM's death can shove it. The reason Dlisted is the only gossip site I read is b/c I always feel that MK has fun with people but never it is never malicious, unlike one fat sperm whale- looking blogger. If you can't feel sadness for a person who passed that you once made fun of in a joking way, than YOU have the issues. Specifically when it comes to BM, I always noticed him making fun of her husband and the fact that she was obviously too good for him, not her specifically.
Let's just say that Lohan passes away one day from her lifestyle? I bet MK will post something respectful as well, since I get the vibe from him that he doesn't take himself too seriously (in a good way) and understands that in the end most people deserve a respectful goodbye. Whether or not she did this to herself, I think most people can agree that life is complicated and people suffer a lot. Some deal with it a lot better than others. Some people don't make it. It is sad when someone passes, even if it was their own doing. It is sad to see potential just vanish off the face of the earth. It is sad because even though we didn't know her personally, we all probably know someone like her. There is nothing wrong with feeling badly about a person dying, even if one day you made fun of their hair or something. If you got a prob with MK, bounce! Plenty of people love his style and he can do just fine w/o u!

Wow, a few days earlier I was thinking about renting 'Uptown Girls'. It is always tragic to see someone die. I haven't seen alot of her movies but she appeared to be a good person. It always sucks to see a young talent leave the world.

I don't know much about Brittany, other than 8 Mile was a good movie and she was good in it. I'm not going to speculate or gossip about her death, it's just really, really sad that someone so young has died so suddenly. Way too much sadness this year. As I said when 2008 was coming to a close....next year has to be better. It didn't turn out that way for me, and alot of other people it seems.
My thoughts go out to her family.

I think whomever said that MK had a soft spot for BM is right. I think there are a couple bloggers and probably most fans that felt the same way about her. She seemed to have a reputation of a nice girl that got caught up with the wrong group of people. I can remember many times reading people's comments on sites like this and others saying that even though she was a fuck up on drugs, they had met her earlier in her career and she was really nice or that she still seemed nice and that husband of hers was really creepy and controlling over her. No matter how bat shit crazy the story about her (I'm thinking the one where she called the cops recently cause she was hearing shit), there was someone there that had something relatively positive to still say about her. On a gossip site, that's fucking unheard of if you ask me. I think a lot of people had a soft spot for her cause she was talented and this is all just such a complete waste that will probably be found to have been 100% preventable.

Wait, the people who frequent sites like this where yes, celebrities are routinely made fun of, are taking MK to task for expressing sadness?
I would be willing to bet if you clicked on one of MK's detractor's postings, you would find them making fun and disparaging other celebrities too. Are we to conclude that if they drop dead and they expressed sadness that they are "fucking whores?"

So sad but not a surprise for anyone that has heard stories about her husband. He was going to destruct either himself or her at some point. Just what I heard. She did have rather well known drug problems. Truly sad, 32 and dead. The poor girl.

I hear what you're saying, but this is part of what these celebrity blogs are about. What would it be if there wasn't a bite to some of the things that MK says? Nobody would visit this blog, in fact dlisted probably wouldn't exist. Lets face it, some of the things MK writes are pretty much what we are all thinking, to some extent of course. If something bad happens to the one we are writing about, well, it's kind of human nature to feel bad about it, and say something nice. I don't feel it necessarily makes MK a hypocrite--think of the arena we're in. MK didn't have to say much, but I think this shows he's human, and how he doesn't let his pride get in the way of saying something that he truly feels.

Sorry if someone has said this: If Brittany was a Type 1 (juvenile) diabetic, that would actually explain her drastic weight loss rather than anorexia. And that can strike at any time (usually under 30), and it's extremely dangerous. My BF is a Type 1, and he can't gain weight no matter how much he eats. Before he developed it at age 27, he was a healthy weight. Just throwing that out there.
