Taylor Swift temporarily ironed away her Texas prom curls for a photo shoot yesterday, and kept the look afterwards to go candy shopping with her friend Emma Stone. If you do the Taylor squint, it sort of looks like Kim Zolciak died on top of her head. What am I saying? Even if you bust your eyes open like STAINS in a Hostess factory, it still looks like Kim Zolciak died on top of her head. This is what happens when you tame the curl.
As a curly head myself (or pube head as my jr. hs bullies used to call me), I do get the tingles every time I hear my curls cry in pain as I slowly murder them by pressing them between a George Foreman Grill. I usually end up looking like I just won fifth place in a Dorothy Hamill wig-alike contest, but hearing my curls die is worth it.

I'm a hairstylist and can tell you that Taylor's sporting a full on wig in these pics. Look at the parting area and those bangs. Even her curly locks have extensions these days....her hair has gotten much longer and thicker in the past year. Honey if you're not born with it you build it these days.

I am so glad to see the absence of a Taylor-bashfest here tonight... SO glad. That's quite an aberration, because we are a pretty tough crowd.. who are decidedly more prone - happy, in fact - to shank-a-bitch, than toss even the slightest nod of approval.
Personally, I think this girl deserves her success. She seems genuine, sweet, and unassuming, and NOT full of herself - unlike, oh... only EVERYONE else these days who has had longer (or less!) than their 15 minutes of famewhoring.
That makes her a rare gem in our D-Listed world.
and... without those curls, her true beauty takes center stage. (Although I do love her curly hair.) ... and yup, I'm gonna go there: I adore her.

Don't talk that way about killing your curls! I used to have really curly hair, maybe not as curly as MK's, but very curly on humid days. It wasn't a pubic bush, but there was really nothing you could do with them. They had their own ideas about how they should look, and naturally curly hair would never be in fashion.
I don't know when it happened. The last picture I have of curly hair was ten years ago. But last year I started growing my hair longer and the curls are just so limp and lifeless, and that was when I realized my hair had changed. On dry winter days it's almost straight. I guess it doesn't look worse than it used to. Maybe it looks better. But it sure does remind me that i'm not young anymore. Like walking around with your dead Siamese twin still attached to you.
Wow i dont like this at all. Her curly hair is part of what makes her so adorable and recognizable. Taylor is a beautiful girl but this look doesnt suit her at all. She looks like she belongs in a 1980's techno video. I hope to God this is temporary.

And I don't get why the overwhelming majority seems to prefer straight hair? Granted, I hate frizzy pouf heads, but I love really nice naturally curly hair. (Mine used to be really pretty) Straight hair is so generic?
