Adam Lambert IS a great vocalist. I mean, the kid can sing for real. But there is such a thing as trying too hard. And last night was exactly that. The song is actually not that bad, and singing it unplugged -like some of the YouTube versions that are floating out there - rather than with all the pseudo techno beats covering his lovely voice,as happened at the beginning would have done it so much more justice. He really has tremendous stage presence and does not need all the crappy overwrought staging that he tried to make the best out of last night, and I am pretty certain the last wails were not supposed to be there either.
Overall, this was a complete miss. And I agree with the poster downthread who says he needs to fire whoever is managing him at the moment -wrong image, wrong everything.
But don't bury him just yet. He will surprise you.
