Ober was a comedy champion on the 1980s variety show, Star Search, but many more people knew and grew up with him as the host of MTV's game show, Remote Control -- which in turn helped break the careers of comedians Adam Sandler, Colin Quinn and Denis Leary.

Friends had become concerned when Ober didn't make it to a show this weekend, and called 911. Authorities found Ober at his home.

Which means he was probably dead for a while - ugh.

Awwwwe. Sad.
I watched faithfully.

Very sad...so young...loved him and his show. Not that 52 is old, but I thought he was much younger than that. I guess he always just looked youthful. Sorry to hear of his death. Condolences to his loved ones.
