ok just cuz i think i can nail it , i think she is a size 10 top but her hips are a little bit narrow so bottom she would be a size 8 ( which is really proportionate because she is tall ) , xtina is not a size 6 (american ) she is a size 2 at the most , j.lo is a size 6 sometimes 4 before kids , i dunno who jordin sparks is so , ok i guess they were talking UK sizes cuz i think if my memory is not at fault a size 0 american is a size 4 UK . if i am wrong sowwwwwwwwwy correct me plizzzzzzz!

Word. I'm a size 10 on bottom. I'm the first to admit it doesn't look good on me. But damn, I work. I bicycle almost 100 miles a week and eat salads everyday. Makes no difference except maybe it kept me going into obese territory and keeps all my numbers good. My cholesterol is so good I need special test to get real numbers. But I'll never be a model, for sure.
did you guys see Sunday NY Times magazine and Jamie Oliver somewhere in Ashville. He's doing a new show. He visited some place called Hillbilly Hamburgers where they cook a 15 pound hamburger and their motto is something like "if you hit it, we'll cook it". They serve them all the time apparently. I think Jamie's there because 68% of the people there are obese and he's trying to help them. On his last show he was helping families that had never owned a kitchen table and ate take-aways on the floor every night. They thought cooking a meal for a family was only for posh people. I don't know why people do it to themselves.

Musings on women's bodies...Sophie Dahl...I think she is a perfect comparison to Christina, actually. Sophie was always very pretty (even when big she still had SUCH a beautiful face) but she did not carry weight well. She carried it all in her stomach and top half. I think Christina, on the other hand, carries it VERY well - she was blessed to have all of her weight gravitate solely to her breasts and ass. If ONLY!

I have come to the conclusion that different shapes have an ideal weight. I have a fairly petite frame and it looks best thin (not skinny, just thin) and toned. If I gain too much weight, it doesn't sit well (it all sits around my waist - none of it goes to ass, legs, or arms and definitely not to boobs). Christina looks fabulous as-is and should never try to lose weight. I think LiLo also has a naturally curvy/thick body that looks good with some meat on it. I think that's another reason (in addition to the drugs) that she looks like SHIT right now - she is way below an attractive size for her frame. Kim K and Scar Jo are the same way - I think they look good with some weight on (hated it when Scar Jo crash dieted). Brit Brit is someone who shouldn't gain too much weight and needs to stay active because she has a naturally athletic build - i.e., she looks best when she is very toned and trim. Her weight all goes to unattractive places - mostly to her thighs, stomach, back and arms. Then there are people with bodies that actually look good super thin - you know, Heidi Klum, Kate Moss, Alessandra Ambruliawhatever her name is (the Victoria Secret gal). They can pull off a really thin look and not look like they are dying of some wasting disease (hint: Kiera Knightly cannot - - she literally looks like she's dying sometimes). I mostly envy the curvy ladies who look good with some 'extra'. If I had that kind of body, I wouldn't have to waste so much time at the gym!

It made me laugh because he's so ugly. but anyway, some magazine in germany Brigette? is going to start using real people to model and karl had to put in his two cents. Lots of people came on and said how women didn't want to see normal women in magazines. They want to see a gorgeous woman and imagine themselves as her.

I disagree. It isn't so much about fat or thin or normal or supermodel for me. When I got the September Anthropologie catalogue (the one photographed in paris) and all the women in there weren't models and it wasn't about making a statement with big girls like Bath and Body did a few years back, but just looking at pretty women in nice clothes, I found it ...refreshing. Like wow. There is an asian woman, with a few wrinkles, looking pretty good in this blouse, like I might look. Whereas when I see a model on the runway I think, I can't buy that I can't wear that and it would look hideous on me.

Is it me, or is it just that as I get older, I find a few wrinkles, bumps and just plain old normalcy more interesting? Anthro always has models I like looking at.
