Here Tawny Goes Again
Dr. Drew, come and get this woman AGAIN! Tawny Kitaen, a graduate of Celebrity Rehab and one of the original videos ho, was arrested in Santa Ana, CA yesterday for driving under the influence.
Sgt. Shontel Sherwood (hottest officer name of the week) of the Newport Beach Police Department told the Associated Press that she was arrested at 3 in the afternoon after officers believed she was fucked up on booze or the bad shit while driving her Range Rover. Tawny was later released on $2,500 bail.
This wasn't Tawny's first time in a jail cell. Tawny was arrested back in 2006 after the po po found 15 grams of Lohan powder in her apartment.
Okay, I know the bad shit messes with your brains, but why would you get behind the wheel of a car when you're riding high? That is the quickest way to getting caught. Flag down a bus! Hitch on to the back of a truck! Ride a pot-bellied pig! TAKE A KAYAK!

Bowchicka: That is totally true. It happens to me every time I quit sugar; I let myself have some 70% dark chocolate and then a piece of baguette and before I know it, I'm eating candy corn. Before that, it was cigarettes.
Luckily I've really kicked cigarettes, but the sugar is harder because it's still socially acceptable.

Hekki - You are totally right about sugar. It is like a drug for many people and can be just as hard to come off of. Like anything else though, if you want to change a habit, dependecy or behavior, dust yourself off, pick yourself up and try again. Congrats on the cigarette quitting! That is no small feat!

Many addicts and alcoholics do not succeed the first time they go through treatment. The fact is that relapse is part of recovery for many. (Compare this to a ciggie smoker who wants to quit his/her legal addiction and has to try several times before they get it right. They are drug addicts too and follow many of the same patterns as the illict-drug addicts.)
For the alcoholics/addicts out of treatment...they get some sober time under their belts, their confidence is up, their guard is down and the addict stops working their recovery program like they first were. They think, "Hey, maybe I CAN control this. Look how long I was able to go without using/drinking. Maybe I'm not really an addict? Maybe I CAN use/drink in moderation. I think it is really possible that I can have some drinks/drugs tonight and then tomorrow I won't use/drink because I now know it is possible for me to stop. I'm certain it won't get out of hand this time. Sadly, the results are almost always the same in the end and hopefully the addict will live long enough to go into treatment/attend meetings again. Some addicts go through the cycle once or a couple times and some go through it 20 times.
This is very common and has nothing to do with Dr. Drew or his particular style of treatment, which seems to be pretty straightforward 12-step based recovery btw. I feel there are a lot of extra triggers and pitfalls for a celebrity, still living amongst the same people he/she used with, compared with a non-celebrity addict. Maybe that has something to do with it. Trust me, these celebrities aren't any different than the non-celebrities in terms of relapse rates. They are just better publicized.

Well, I will tell you I watched coverage of that atrocity for a year and I kept mixing up whether it was Great White or Whitesnake, too, so a normal mistake...the hair bands all went away cuz they went bald.

It seemed pretty obvious that Tawny went on Celebrity Rehab for the money and exposure. She pretended to be the "mama" figure and spouted off everything she thought the rehab staff wanted to hear. It is no surprise she is back to substance abuse. What is surprising is it took so long for her to show up on the radar again.
