Virtue and Talent are obviously overrated.

Vasallina, you are right, the movie was made for $16 million and it will most likely make a profit. So, technically, it won't be a bomb. The problem is, everybody thought it would be a enormous moneymaker because of Megan Fox. There were people in Hollywood who actually thought she, with the help of Diablo Cody, could carry a movie. I'm sure the producers were hoping for a $30-$40 million opening weekend, which would have had them dancing in the streets. They had no clue that Megan Fox was not as popular with the movie going public as they (and she) thought she was. (It was the hype that confused them.) So, by those standards, this movie is an epic fail and Megan Fox's career will most likely not survive it. As shown by the infamous letter, Megan is not the most popular or fun actress to work with and that doesn't help anyone's career. If Michael Bay decided to dump her for Trans3, she can kiss her career goodbye, marry her has-been boyfriend and do Lifetime movies!!!

It seems to me that they're currently working on ways to cash in. A lot of the streaming vid sites I go to are becoming paysites - cheap, but still. It's on those sites that movies stay up. Everywhere else you gotta chase them around as they get pulled and re-uploaded.

And the pop-ups and ads are getting more involved and harder to avoid - some things you can't watch if you block pop-ups.

But I think the big problem is the vastness of the internet. They do take stuff down but it's obvious that insiders are stealing stuff and uploading, which is not helping, and then it's also such a labyrinth with host sites and fan sites, collection sites (on these you can upload to a host site with a bogus name like: My vacation in Banff and people can still find it) and blogs and whatnot...I do feel for them. And then I LAUGH like the evil witch I am! BWHAHAHAHAHAHA! Take THAT media whores!

This will be out -cam version- right away. A DVD rip will probably be another week. Ha. I watched a few torrents in my time (ahem) b/c well, it's hard getting a sitter every time Mr Putas and I want to see something. And the older I get the less tolerance I have for crowded theaters with mouth breathers, rustling wrappers and loud gaggles of teenagers trying to make comments out loud to sound cool. Noes! For an artist I really love and respect we make the effort to hit the theater- also if it's something that just has to be seen full screen. Like I went to the second Elizabeth /Cate Blanchett movie b/c that must be seen in all it's glory:) Aaaand I just realized we need to get out more often.

It doesn't grab the pre-pubescent beat-offers audience, the female audience, or the horror audience, because it's a mess of genres. Also, the fact that Diablo Cody wrote it might be a big deterrent. This should teach HOllywood a lesson though, just because you put the blowup doll whore of the moment and her fake tits in a movie doesn't mean it will be a hit.
