Signers you don't personally know need to present identification with a picture and number that is not out of date. All real estate transactions require a right thumb print of each signer impressed in the notary journal.
Jurats require that you administer an oath that the signer swears under penalty of perjury that the contents of the document is true and correct.
Acknowledgements only require that the signer show sufficient proof of identity.
You must return your journal and your seal to the county clerk who swore you in as a notary or to the Secretary of State, by registered or certified mail.
You cannot notarize any document that pertains to any action in which you have a financial interest.
You cannot advise anyone regarding the law.
You can notarize limited powers of attorney and health care provisions.

Ok, done with the main part of the booklet outlining a notary's duties. Got 10 pages of outlines to go over, and over and over. Plus the last 20 pages of Government and Civil Codes that apply to shit I will have to Notarize and how to prove the signer is who he/she says who they are.
My brain is going to bleed.

People who own kittehs and puppehs should train them early to get into the crate or into the car. We took our fur kids with us a lot; they went to the grocery store, the post office, the bank, etc. Never in the summer time. They even rode with us in the cab of a DIY moving van from California to Virginia and back. They went with us on trips to Mississippi. They learned to travel well and to get into the car quickly.
Ergo, when we had to evacuate our duplex in Virginia due to a flash flood, they were easy to round up, crate, and leash.
