Farewell, Eunice Kennedy Shriver

Eunice Kennedy Shriver, sister of John, mother of Maria Shriver and the founder of the Special Olympics, passed away early this morning at the age of 88. During the past few years, Eunice suffered several strokes and wasn't doing too well. Her family gathered at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Mass. last week to begin to say their goodbyes. The Shriver family released a statement, here's a little bit of it:

"She was the light of our lives, a mother, wife, grandmother, sister and aunt who taught us by example and with passion what it means to live a faith-driven life of love and service to others. For each of us, she often seemed to stop time itself -- to run another Special Olympics Games, to visit us in our homes, to attend to her own mother, her sisters and brothers, and to sail, tell stories, and laugh and serve her friends. We have always been honored to share our mother with people of good will the world over who believe, as she did, that there is no limit to the human spirit. At this time of loss, we feel overwhelmed by the gifts of prayer and support poured out to us from so many who loved her. We are together in our belief that she is now in heaven, rejoicing with her family, enjoying the fruits of her faith, and still urging us onward to the challenges ahead. Her love will inspire us to faith and service always."

Eunice was always my favorite Kennedy, because she probably smelled like gardenias and peppermints. And in her old age, she always wore pearls. This is important. May she rest in peace.

Is it wrong for a man to have a sugar baby or a woman to have sugar daddy??
It is an absolutely extramarital relationship, but more and more services came out on Internet focusing on this kind of relationship.
such as ^-^ www.sugarscupid.com ^-^

Whatever....bitch was old enough - I dont see what all the special obituary is about. She had her time and she had it good...given that her life "accomplishment" was coming into this world rich abd privileged and leaving it at an old age and a fulfilled life, equally rich and privileged. So she was a real nobody who had too much time and money on her hands which she dedicated to other things besides her fucking self. Boo fucking hoo...most people do that in life and dont get trophies and special prayers for them. But every time a rich privileged white bitch does it, OMG...let's create statues in her honor.

Now can we go back to mourning people who really deserve to be mourned because their time hadnt come? Im sick and tired of mourning 90 year old rich bitches.

leogirl-Truly one of the great unsung Kennedys. She made her mark in her own way and was not afraid to get up close and personal with the less fortunate. She was truly a shining star and will be genuinely missed.RIP and continue your work in Heaven.

RIP old Kennedy lady, she's seen a helluva lot in her family, I'd love to hear her stories.
88 is pretty good, god bless her and her money.

RIP Eunice, although I could honestly not be any less ambivalent about the loss of yet another Kennedy.

I had the pleasure of meeting all the Kennedys back in the early 80's at a fundraiser. There was a receiving line of all the Kennedy's where we went to greet each one of them (yes, even John-John). They were all very gracious, but Eunice was particularly friendly.

R.I.P. Eunice. You were a wonderful lady who did great things.

Her work with Special Olympics was a ground-breaking, wonderful concept. She raised some pretty decent kids as well...all of the Shrivers seem normal.

Rest In Peace, Eunice. You lived life well and good. Thank you.

RIP, Eunice Shriver.

I had the pleasure of meeting her in the early 90's and she was glorious in her son's campaign office - working- It was a bit cold in there so she had on a pastel coat and knee high socks and shoes. Not a care about looking perfect although perfect she looked. With her thick grey mane of hair that was to be envied. She shook my hand with such a force that it stung. Everything about her seemed real and fascinating. May she rest in peace.
