No one is saying Britney is the worst mother who ever lived, but she most certainly has proven herself to be a bad mother and yes, I do dislike her for that reason, among other. There are also worse singers, worse dancers, worse dressers, worse just about any term you can apply to Britney Spears...it doesn't mean she gets a free pass for being shitty at all of the above just because she's famous. You want to live in (and fuck up) in the spotlight, deal with the shit that gets flung your way.
I don't give a shit why you want to defend her, and I really have no idea why you give a shit why I hate her. It's a gossip site, yet people take things way too seriously. Some of the posters that have come through here, I would think they're her best friend by the way you go out of your way to defend her, it's ridiculous, especially when you start dismissing proven FACTS (a la the drug addiction and mothering issues) to try and make your point. And all that shit about you can't hate a person you've never met, well, I've met her and I still think she's a bitch. In fact, that's when I started really disliking her. Have anything else to say? None of this is directed at hotslut, whose post I was originally replying to, or even most of the regs. Just at the few who make no sense, and I'm sure you know who you are.
I used to love Dlisted, and I still do for Michael K's writing, but it seems to have attracted some really "special" kinds of people that make commenting and reading the comments more of an annoyance than anything. It's why I rarely come here anymore, despite being a faithful reader for more than two years. Not worth the stupidity you have to put up with.

You said it better than me and in less than like 5 comment posts haha. If someone never learns something how do we expect them to know? Certainly not just by looking around. All she knows how to do is be 'Britney' because in doing so she's gained "success" and a lot of people's acceptance. Seemingly crucial things like being a responsible adult, or a good parent are not intrinsic to everyone's being.

Britney is a fucking mess, but I don't hate her at all. In fact, I like her- a lot, or as much as I can like someone I've never met and will never meet. Everybody forgets that she is CRAZY AND STUPID. That doesn't make her a bad person, it makes her CRAZY AND STUPID. That means she does CRAZY AND STUPID THINGS. She's clearly incapable of making intelligent decisions, but really, what chance did she stand? When you have a team of people dictating your every move from age 16 on, how are you supposed to develop those skills? When you fuck up and it's cleaned up for you immediately with no repercussions, how do you begin to understand that actions have consequences? I take her at face value- she was a beautiful girl who had some undeniable skill as a performer and entertainer, not necessarily as a singer, but whatever, her shit always gets me moving. She got rode hard and put away wet by Hollyweird. Everyone expects her to have the mindset of a 45 year old soccer mom, but she's a developmentally stunted 20 year old- it's not going to happen!!! I'm actually impressed with her progress, but I'll reserve my final judgment for when the conservatorship ends- if she goes back to black, then she is crazy, stupid AND deserves what she gets. But til then, what else do we want from her??

And if she is, it'd be a misguided, pro-creating, mentally ill, fame hungry, emotionally vacant, attention craving loose cannon poster. Is that a poster you can relate to or even have use for? I agree with you on mostly everything you said. She's not blameless, and I regret coming off as if I think that. We're all witnesses to her behavior but instead of being bewildered, bothered and increasingly venomous I try to figure out WHY someone would rather prance around looking mentally unstable, sloppy and careless than be a normal, attentive mother. For me personally I try to piece together why in her thought process what she's doing and how she lives her life makes sense to her. I'm more curious than hateful for situations and people I can't figure out, even if they piss me off. It'd be way easier to write her off with insults and degradation like I am better than her because I "have my shit together" but I know there are reasons for the way she is and I don't think she's doing the things she's doing because she's just a cold, careless and cruel person or a "cunt"

Honestly, I think people get up in arms because she is a Poster Child. I mean, basically, that's what she does. So when we think: Is that the kinda poster I want to see - or other people to see, even? Is that the message I want my community to deliver? And they say no. In fact, they say: HELL NO! But they can't make it stop. She's the Poster Child - she can either stop being that or be something we can all be proud to see on a poster; something we can be positive about. No offense but who are we to say someone is a "fucking waste of life" wtf? Look at the process that adopts and propels a Britney to succeed in our culture as an entertainer. Why do people even care what kind of mom she is? I see tons of kids a day with shitty parents and those kids has adults will have way more to do with the future of this world than Britney's 2 kids.
