When I heard this this morning, I KNEW MK would post about it.

Even though this chick had the patent on the crazy, what a horrible way to die. Let's just hope it was quick.

But I think "glitter girl" was a total nut job who exploited herself on national TV, not once, but twice, so she could talk gibberish to the camera just to hear herself speak. I don't watch AI, but this is sad. Poor thing, only 25.
I do, however, know Seaside very well. Weekend hangout thru the summer from 18 to about 21. (many moons ago). Over the years, it got tackier and tackier, we now refer to it as Sleez-side.

It's easy to tell from this vid that she had a very rough life. At the very least, she had the guts to get up there and go for it. Sad that she was so young when she was killed.

Wow, sad. Considering her situation, she had alot of confidence and personality. AI loves to exploit the down and out, hoping to get some story to use for ratings.

I usually am disgusted with the talentless people who act all pissed off when they don't make it at their auditions. With her, however, I was happy that she gave them all a big fuck you.

Totally agree with you, Candyperfume girl. This really is so sad and American Idol disgusts me, its destroyed more lives than it has created "success stories". Bet you any of the "winners" wish they were never on it. The people that watch this religiously and keep its ratings up need to get a life and some perspective. This girl just had a dream and was trying to make it happen. I actually thought she had a really good voice. I hope she rests in peace.

But you make many a good point in your comment: humans need to look beyond the tawdry and sensationalistic, and look to people that want to stand on their own 2 and achieve something in their lives. Something that gives BACK to society and I don't mean diseases.

In defense of the video I posted, I never said SHE was pathetic or sad, but if you actually watch the video and listen to the fact that she was using her life (which from her description wasn't so hot) as material, it IS sad. I've never been a fan of self depricating humor. Yes, she made an effort and she tried, but feeling pity for someone does not automatically make you an asshole who worships celebrities. She made a good point in her routine that they made millions off of her reaction and yet she has little to no money in her own pocket. That to me is sad. If that makes me a bad person, then I guess I'm going to hell...

Bravo! I've always disliked American Idol.

It is disgusting to see how in this world we reward people for the wrong things and mock them for the most trivial irrelevant reasons. Here is this 23 year old girl, obviously coming from a very modest background, living in one room with her mother somewhere between Allentown and west shit street in small town america filled with the kind of dull, moronic mindless evil that produces nothing but despair and all the bad things that define America at its worst.

Yet she was studying to become a vet (which is not easy by the way, getting into vet school is as hard as getting into regular med school, if not harder), she was hopeful and worked on her art, created, she loved the animals she adopted despite limited means, she obviously took care of her mother too, although like so many like her, she coulda just said "bye ma, I gotta go live my dream" - and she got an audition on this bastard show american Idol where she didnt even have a bad voice. Really. Her voice was just fine.

Yet that little sac of excrement Simon Cowell put her down, made fun of her...telling her she doesnt have it and so did the other two idiotic stick figures. And now everyone here is like "aw how sad are her attempts at stand up comedy" blah blah blah, and how pathetic ...

No this is not sad. Her attempts to paint are not sad. Her attempt to pursue her dreams and want to make something better out of herself despite all odds, is not sad. Her having a big heart to adopt 3 animals while living in one room is not sad. Taking care of a single mother in white trash american town is not sad. What is sad, however, is how she was treated by the likes of simon Cowell, who are paid 60 million dollars in one year to be essentially non-contriburintg assholes of society, and have others make fun of her and mock her - because she isnt pretty enough and obviously so sad and burdened from all the turn downs and put downs, that she acted the way she did.

So what she put some glitter on her face and wasnt pretty. At least she tried, at least she didnt succumb to the crackwhore, white trash, single mom with 19 fate that awaits so many people in her place. I admire her spirit. I probably would have slashed my wrists long time ago if I had her life.

Kudos to her spirit. And shame on America for rewarding all that is ill and dysfunctional in this society. Our heros are the Paris Hiltons and Kim Kardassians of this world...we mock them, but we really just want to be like them.
