Michael Jackson's Will Filed
The will of Michael Jackson was filed in Los Angeles today and TMZ got a hold of it. As expected, MJ named his mother Katherine as legal guardian of Prince Michael, Blanket and Paris. If Katherine wasn't able to care for the kids for any reason, he wanted Miss Diana Ross to be their guardian.
Yeah, I didn't see that one coming. Joe Jackson is totally rubbing his palms together, because his dream of The Jackson 3 is getting closer.....
The will also states Michael's estate is worth $500 million. Everything has been left to the Michael Jackson Family Trust. The co-executors of the trust are John Branca (his lawyer), John McCain (former presidential candidate) and Barry Siegel (his accountant) NO! Not John McCain. I'm telling dumb jokes. John McCLAIN who is a music executive is one of the executors. I thought I'd give your eyeballs a jump.
The details of the trust are not public, but apparently the money goes to Katherine, his kids and various charities.
And in more Michael news, KTLA says that he will not be buried at Neverland. There's currently a law that forbids burials on private property. Gov. Schwarzenegger is trying to help the family get around the law, but so far no dice. Also, the planned public viewing at Neverland on Friday or Saturday might not happen after all. Santa Barbara County officials have yet to confirm that it's happening.
By the way, I must have that sweater in the picture above. I'll be making my own version tonight using an old sweatshirt and metal push pins from Rite-Aid.

As for his mom, I hear she doesn't even live in the same state as Joe so I hope she doesn't let him get near the kids or the $. I mean not that it is ever okay, but if you put yourself in her shoes back then: Mother of many children, dependent on her very ambitious husband. What was she going to do? Just take them all and leave? It is not that easy, especially back then when beating was more acceptable. Now that she has no reason to have to depend on that psycho, she can go tell him to f-off when he comes asking for $ for his blu-ray shit.

I would guess so. From the news reports I have seen, mccartny was not mentioned in the will, but I guess jacko left most of his estate to a trust, and the provisions of the trust are secret--so it could be there...

I'm asking because I've paid little or no attention to any of the financial aspects of his death (on purpose) and swear I heard someone (Keith Olbermann keeps popping into my head) say he changed his will a few months ago to leave the Beatles stuff to Paul to make amends. It stuck with me because I thought that was a pretty decent thing to do on MJ's part, but haven't heard a peep about it since. I guess it was all rumors.
And from what I've read today, I agree with your predictions on the future of MJ's money.
I was a young pup working as a consultant the first time a space shuttle exploded in mid air. I visted a client and was astonished to hear the tasteless jokes--it never occurred to me that someone would joke about that--well and amused as well by the sick jokes... That client also had a kinky looking gal working there who kept making eyes at me--but I digress.
Flash forward a few decades, and I just thought of some joke along the lines of cpr and the song 'beat it'. Mind you, I didn't tell it, just thought of it. Yeah, I know, bus to hell anyway...

Joe and Katherine haven't lived together in like 30 years. Michael worshiped his mother and that's why he made her guardian. Joe lives in Las Vegas in a house I think Janet bought him. This family is so messed up.
What I heard was that he had been borrowing money against it, so he can't really 'leave' it to anyone. He can leave his interest in it, but then they need to pay off the lienholder if they want to own it outright.
I think the beatles sold it for like 10 million, and it was worth almost a billion at some point. Just think you could be a beatle and still have regrets...
My prediction is that his estate will prove to be insolvent, or nearly so. He has been dodging bill-collectors across continents for some years now.
OTOH, with him no longer spending, and the residuals from his catalog coming in, maybe it will start generating cash and become worth quite a lot at some point... Certainly we can expect commemorative re-packaging and re-issuing of his catalogue--and in fact anything he ever even looked at--which will yield lots of money for everybody.

Don't know if anyone mentioned this already. But a few pwople have "channeled" Michael. Here is what they got:
He is sorry for hurting some children. He hurts over that. He says that he took things too far because he was trying to be a child. He says that YES he had made errors in judgement.
He was greatly pained over his father constantly saying he was butt ugly. Every cosmetic procedure was an effort to not be ugly in his father's eyes and to the rest of the world. he wanted love.
He was not the bio dad to his children but regardless they are his kids in spirit.
His mother hurt him too. She called him a bad person and he wanted her approval.
He is angry that that people were always after his finances.
He lost a functional immune system because of too many antibiotics taken because of so many cosmetic procedures.
He is still in a state of transition. Where he is still attached to the emototions of this world. (Very common right after passing)
He sang and danced to "fit in" and to show people he was acomplished and worthy of love. He wants everyone to know that he did it from his heart.
He felt that his parents were cruel and projected their own crap onto him.
He said he loved performing but will never again make it a "business" he hated that cage.
Will be helping others with their music and talent.
