I don't think he had vitiligo for a few reasons. First, almost everything he said as an adult was bullshit or deluded. Second, he had major self-image issues and a tragic addiction to plastic surgery. Third, no other Jackson had it (and I'm ignoring LaToya). Fourth, I know nothing about medicine, but vitiligo results in white patches; he had most of his exposed skin whitewashed.

I'll see if I can find it - it was a very good video. He also had lupus. I'll be honest - the shade still bothers me. I've seen vitiligo a couple of times and the skin is just...more like white people skin - that's, actually what mesmerizes me about it when I see it; the thing that makes my internal mama say: Don't stare!...but he was kinda gray. That could be from the illnesses and the pill popping tho...

People I have spoken to agree that if he had stopped with the surgery around the time of Thriller...that would've been good. He was good looking but poor MJ was just a tortured soul.

That being said, I'm sick of all this fucking bullshit. The conspiracy theories, the 'close sources' suddenly spilling their guts, the tabloid rumours, the fake interviews.

Let Michael sleep already! Just let him go. I am so fucking sad over this and will mourn but the fact this has become a circus is foul.

I'm all for sick humour but making fun of dead people is not on.

The only thing that has bothered me is that Joe doesn't look like he gives a shit his son is dead.

Bottom line, Michael was just so deeply scarred by his childhood. His other brothers seemed to be able to tackle the emotional issues but clearly MJ couldn't. Ironically his fame was his downfall.

All I hope for is that the memory of a true entertainer lives on and that his kids are happy.

I always believed he had vitiligo too. My husband's mother has it - she uses light makeup to even herself out instead of dark makeup because the majority of her skin is extremely light (again, due to vitiligo) and her makeup would look crazy if she tried to fill in the light spots with super dark makeup opposed to blending the large light spots together. In fact, it looks very much like MJ's skin with makeup on.

It's really not that uncommon among African Americans... which is why I never understood people doubting MJ having it in the first place?

LaToya was in Vegas until she got a call telling her that Michael was dead. I watched CNN and saw her drive into the parking lot at the hospital at the same time the ambulance did. MJ was living 10 minutes from there. What was Joe doing there and who was the person with him? Wonder why MJ had this fatal heart attack while the scum sucking parasite was there? Why was the family attorney hired that day (I think his name was Oxbaum). He gave press releases stating his concern over the last few months but was hired the day MJ died. This is all so bizarre.

I don't think Katherine should be considered as guardian of the three kids due to her age. She's 79 years old and when she dies, those kids will have to be up-rooted all over again & I don't think that's fair to them. Better to place them w/someone who will keep them until they're adults. I am ashamed to admit that I am hoping the autopsies reveal once and for all why his skin was white. I always assumed it was some sort of drug--probably one that attacks the liver or something. There was talk of a disease, but I don't think that's the whole story.

I'm probably the only person walking this earth that believes he had vitiligo. It seems plausible enough and it's not the rare disease people think it is. It is believed to be an autoimmune disorder and often times, those under great stress are more prone to developing it (he certainly fits those criteria. I'm sure the meds he was on did nothing for his immune system). Also, just having vitiligo can affect the mental health of the patient--not an easy disease to live with. If he underwent chemical depigmentation, he'd end up very white-skinned. On the other hand, he could have just gone to a charlatan and gotten the depigmentation done because he wanted to be fair.

I'm watching the dateline special on tv of when they interviewed Michael and he said that if they missed a step during dance practice his dad would "tear him up" he would also use iron cords and throw him up against the wall. He said his mom would yell at Joe that he was gonna kill him. It's really quite sad.
